On February 20, 2024, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Gephardt Daily reported that The singer Loren Allred has accomplished a great deal in her life, and she is only just beginning to make her mark.
Her appearance is becoming more identifiable, and there is a good probability that you have familiarized yourself with her voice, even if you are unaware of it.
After completing his high school education at Cottonwood High School in Murray, Allred went on to study musical theater at Weber State University in Ogden for a year before moving to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Both of Allred’s parents are musicians; her mother is a classical soprano and vocal instructor, while her father was a former director of the Pittsburgh Bach Choir as well as an artistic director and conductor of Salt Lake Choral Artists. Allred is a member of the Pittsburgh Bach Choir. Both of Allred’s parents continue to reside in Murray.
At the age of 19, Allred signed a record contract with Island Def Jam after she posted videos of herself singing to YouTube while she was attending school in Boston. Ne-Yo was the one who found and championed her, which eventually led to the signing of the agreement. Allred also participated in the audition process for “American Idol” in 2008, when she was 18 years old, and she competed on the third season of “The Voice” in 2012.
On the other hand, she is most well-known for her jaw-dropping vocal rendition of the RIAA multi-platinum song “Never Enough,” which was included in the album and film of “The Greatest Showman,” which was nominated for an Academy Award and won several Grammy Awards. Due to the fact that she was just the voice actor in the film that was released in 2017, Allred remained mostly unknown to the industry until April 2022, when she made an appearance on “Britain’s Got Talent” and sang “Never Enough.” She was awarded a Golden Buzzer for her performance. During the last episode of the fifteenth season of “Big Brother,” she made her debut on television as a composer by performing her new tune “Last Thing I’ll Ever Need.” She eventually ended in ninth place throughout the competition.
Under the title “Late Bloomer,” Allred released her first piece of original music in the year 2021. Moreover, she went on tour with her new songs and also participated in tours with Andrea Bocelli and David Foster simultaneously. April 2023 saw the publication of her strong extended play (EP) titled “I Hear Your Voice.”
After that, she received a phone call informing her that she would most likely be participating in the “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League” competition, which took place in January of this year and included forty all-star performances, with ten acts selected by each judge. Each of the forty artists had previously been on one of the “Got Talent” franchises from across the globe before to their current performance. Allred was unsure of which team she would be selected for, but she had a sneaking suspicion that it would be co-led by Simon Cowell, and she was correct. She went proceeded to sing a new arrangement of “Never Enough,” which included a key shift that brought her to a note that was higher than any note she has ever sang during the course of her live television performances. The “American Idol” superfans voted her through to the semifinals, where she sang another song from a movie called “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Her performance was successful in getting her through to the next round.

On Monday, Allred spoke with Gephardt Daily from her residence in New York City. This was before she left for Japan on Tuesday for work-related obligations.
This was the first question we asked her about her childhood in Utah.
It was just before I was going to enter ninth school that my family relocated to Salt Lake City, she said. And I went to Cottonwood High School, where I learned that there was an audition for a scholarship to perform in musical theater at Weber State University. It was a chance that was comparable to receiving a full ride. As a result, I had an audition for it, and I was awarded that scholarship. I actually had a vocal instructor at Weber State University while I was there, and he told me that I should try out for Berklee College of Music in Boston because it is a little bit more modern. He felt that I would be a good match for the program because it would be a good fit for me. Because I was thinking, “You know, I love musical theater, but I really want to study songwriting and vocal performance in another area,” they can open you up to the pop world a little bit more than here currently does. This is because I was feeling like, “You know, I really want to study that.” What I’m trying to say is that my time spent at Weber State University, specifically with that vocal instructor, was really beneficial in terms of molding me into a person who is able to go on and into another field. I could always count on him to watch out for me, and after that, I continued to study with him for a good ten years. Accordingly, he has always been a significant influence.
We also asked Allred what advice she would have given to her younger self, particularly when she was going through difficult times. She has stated in the past that her time with Def Jam and her appearances on “The Voice” were particularly challenging for her given the age she was at the time. In fact, she decided to leave the music industry because she was struggling with anxiety and depression at the time.
“I think I would have just said, if you’re not ready, you don’t have to do this,” Allred said. “It’s not necessary for you to do this.” “I believe that, you know, beginning a career that is so public, and that kind of turns you into a product, is something that someone who knows themselves a little better might be suited for. This is because it can be difficult to know who to trust, and it can be difficult to know which direction to go, and it can be difficult to know when to stand up for yourself. I believe that I would have simply said that it is OK to wait for a little bit longer. And by the way, that is exactly what I did, and I most certainly do not have any remorse about it.
Another question that we posed to her concerned her connection to the song “Never Enough,” as well as whether or not she believes that the music was brought into her life for a specific purpose.
“Yes, without a doubt,” she said. “You know, at the time, I had kind of decided that I was happier singing behind the scenes, and I feel like the universe or something was giving me this opportunity to kind of ease me back into a place where… that I could follow and eventually come out again. Thank you for understanding.” Therefore, I believe that it was the ideal situation for me to be in. Although it was not something that I would have anticipated happening, I am really thankful that it did take place in the way that it did.

Despite the fact that it was nerve-wracking, Allred said that the experience on “Britain’s Got Talent” was well worth it.
“I mean, it was scary because, you know, the last reality competition show that I had done, ‘The Voice,’ it was very stressful for me, and it didn’t really turn out how I had hoped,” she added. “It was a lot of pressure.” “And so after that, I just thought to myself, well, I’m really just putting myself back into the fire once again. Additionally, you should be aware that these programs are challenging due to the fact that you never know what the judges are going to say. You never know how you’re going to sound, so it could be the finest moment of your life or the worst moment of your life. I cannot express how glad I am that it turned out to be such an emotional and life-changing experience for me, and that Simon and the other judges on ‘BGT’ were so welcoming and so supportive. Consequently, I am overjoyed that I was able to do that.
We also inquired about the circumstances behind her participation in “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League,” and she provided an explanation.
“Well the producers reached out and they just said, you know, we’re doing this, like kind of all-stars show and the judges are drafting their favorite contestants from past seasons, and you might be getting a call from someone you know in the next couple of days,” Allred said. “And then I received a call from Simon; since I had previously played for Simon, I had a suspicion that he had picked me as the winner. However, I did not know which judge had chosen me. When he was the one who phoned, I couldn’t contain my excitement.
I also inquired as to whether or not she would have selected Cowell as her mentor if she had been given the opportunity to do so.
What she had to say was, “Oh, yeah, without a doubt, he is a genius.” He has shown that he is able to work with vocalists ever since I was a youngster, which is a testament to the fact that he has remarkable intuition. When I was 18 years old, I auditioned for the singing competition American Idol, which caused me to miss the first week of my Berklee education. And he responded with a negative: he was not very kind to me. Similarly, prior to my appearance on “Britain’s Got Talent,” I was also concerned about whether or not the experience would be the same as previously. On the other hand, you should know that he has undergone a transformation, and he is now the kindest and most encouraging guy. Aside from that, I believe that he was able to sort of let go of that role that I believe he was required to portray.
She also discussed the fact that she had performed a fresh rendition of “Never Enough” on the show “American Idol: Fantasy League.”
“It was an incredible experience because Simon told me that I believe you should come back to the United States and perform ‘Never Enough’ once more, and then I thought, oh, I want to make sure that it is not enough,” she added. “It was an epic experience.” He said, “But I really think that, you know, people in the United States, a lot of them haven’t heard the story yet. I think that’s the case.” My opinion is that it is of utmost significance that you identify yourself over here, and he was absolutely correct in his assessment, as the reaction was unlike anything I had ever encountered before. I believe that I received 20,000 alerts on my phone in a single day, but it wasn’t even close to being that many; I mean, I couldn’t keep up with it. It’s just, it’s really a tough thing to achieve, and I feel like it occurred due of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘America’s Got Talent’ and Simon Cowell in particular. And I feel like I’ve finally made a reputation for myself in the United States and across the globe. And I feel like I’ve done it.
She continued by saying, “It’s a little bit different; we added a key change and so it was a challenge for me; it’s the highest I’ve ever sung the song live.” She was referring to her rendition of “Never Enough.” To put it another way, I was simply thinking, “You know what, if we’re going to go for it, we’re going to take it all the way.” In all honesty, I couldn’t be more pleased with how things turned out. I was apprehensive, but in all honesty, I was thinking to myself, “This could very well be one of the best vocal performances I’ve ever given.” In addition, Allred shared with us that her parents were able to go to England to see her perform on “Big Brother” and to Los Angeles to watch her perform on “American Idol: Fantasy League.”
Allred was asked to perform in the show’s conclusion, despite the fact that the Ramadhani Brothers, a balancing act couple from Tanzania, ultimately emerged victorious in the competition. She said, “I was a guest performer, and I was kind of coming back for the finale at the end.” “Throughout the course of the event, there were a number of other acts that performed alongside myself and [singer] Brian Justin Crum. I had the impression that I was attending a Cirque du Soleil performance, and it was quite remarkable.
Allred also provided further information on her journey to Japan, which will start today, February 20.
“I have this incredible opportunity, where I’m singing the song for the new ‘Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth,’ which has such a huge following; people have been looking forward to this re-released this game from the 1990s, and I’m the singing voice of one of the main characters, Aerith, in the game,” she added. “It’s going to be a great experience for me.” “So that is going to be released, I believe, perhaps in the month of April, but we are now working with the composer to create a music video for it, and it is very spectacular. Although I had gone to Japan before, it was just for a private event, and this chance seems to be far more thrilling than the one I had previously experienced.
In addition, Allred discussed the things that she has planned for the remainder of the year 2024 as well as the things that are on her list of things to do.
The statement that she made was, “I have a lot of things that I’m excited about.” The song that I recorded was my arrangement of ‘Over the Rainbow,’ and it was my semi-final song. That will be released very shortly. We played all of the strings live. And then there is a music video that I have created to accompany my fresh new rendition of the song “Never Enough.” That is going to be revealed. After the film had been released for five years, I was legally obligated to release my own version of the story. I just had the feeling that this was the right moment, and I was kind of inspired by Taylor Swift’s entire thing where she made something that was kind of like Taylor’s version, so it’s called “Never Enough: Loren’s Version.” In addition, I am now in the process of finalizing a whole extended play (EP), which contains a few songs that were scheduled to be included on my album when I was signed to Def Jam; I have been allowed to record those songs once again this time around. It is almost like an album that depicts my history, present, and future, and it is going to be named “Claim to Fame.” After that, there will be a few renditions of songs from “The Greatest Showman,” and then there will be an entirely new original release. As a result, I get the impression that the project in question will present me as an artist in addition to my role as a singer, which is something that I believe people were able to infer from the film “The Greatest Showman.” I can’t hold back my excitement over it.
The EP is expected to be released later in the year 2024, according to Allred.
I’m really kind of like pouring my heart and soul into this,” she added. “It’s going to be a little later in the year because we’re just adding some live strings and trumpet and you know, I’m really kind of like putting my heart and soul into this.” The answer is that it will be a few more months, but I will keep you posted on the situation.
In addition to that, we inquired about whether or not she has any interest in performing on stage or appearing in movies.
She said, “It’s been a really exciting experience.” It has come to my attention that there have been several audition queries for Broadway and West End-related productions. Having the opportunity to work with an acting coach and participate in auditions has been a really exciting experience for me. Although I am uncertain about the outcome, I am certain that this is something that I will do in the future.
