There is a permanent marking that Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne have created to commemorate the time that they spent working together.
The actress, who is 49 years old, said in a recent interview with CR Fashion Book that she and her daughter Vivienne, who is 16 years old, received matching tattoos during their unique time working on the Broadway musical The Outsiders.
“During our time working on The Outsiders, my daughter Viv and I were able to acquire the song ‘Stay Gold,'” Jolie said. The term is a reference to the name of one of the original songs that are included in the play that Jolie co-produced with the aid of Vivienne.
When asked about the tattoo, she said, “It means so much to us separately and together.” She made her first appearance with the tattoo in April, on the opening night of the Broadway show.
The actress has a number of tattoos on her wrist, including Vivienne’s rendition of “Stay Gold.” However, she did not specify where the tattoo is located on her wrist during the interview.
Jolie made a spectacular appearance in her debut cover photo and interview for the October edition of CR Fashion Book. In the conversation, she addressed parenthood and her profession, and she attracted attention to her fashion line, Atelier Jolie.
Vivienne, who is a theater enthusiast, encouraged her to take on the role of one of the lead producers in The Outsiders after the teenager saw the play, which is a musical adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s novel, at La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego in 2023. Her comments on her shared tattoo with Vivienne come after she began her role in The Outsiders.
Jolie also discussed another tattoo that she and her children have with CR Fashion Book. This tattoo is something that they all have in common.
“In addition, there is a Bird that I share with a few of my children, and it is something that is very personal to all of us,” she added.
The actress did not disclose which of her six children she has the bird tattoo with. She is the mother of Maddox, who is 23 years old, Pax, who is 20 years old, daughters Zahara, who is 19 years old, and Shiloh, who is 18 years old, as well as Vivienne and her twin brother Knox, who are all her children with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt.
“There are too many to count or name just one,” Jolie said in response to the outlet’s question about the lessons that her children had taught her when she was speaking to them. But once you become a parent, you will never again be in the position of being first. Your existence is for someone else. It’s a wonderful sensation to have.”
In a different part of the conversation, the actress and activist discussed how she came up with the concept to develop her fashion business, Atelier Jolie, which was introduced to the public in May of 2023.
In an interview with CR Fashion Book, she said, “My intention was to build a space — a home, really — for people to experience inspiration and creativity.” The home is a gathering place for artists and designers from all over the globe, and at its core, it is an invitation to re-engage in design and to develop community.
In her explanation, Jolie said that the collective’s primary objective is to “honor individuality and celebrate the spirit of personal expression.”
I have always had the honor of working with some of the most talented tailors, costume designers, and pattern makers that I have had the opportunity to meet during my career,” she stated. “I have always liked creating and designing alongside them.”
My goal was to establish a group consisting of artists and designers that are a source of inspiration for me and who are producing work in a manner that challenges excessive consumerism… The sole regulation that applies to our visitors who are staying with us is that they are not allowed to build exclusively for themselves. They are obligated to provide a contribution to the community by being able to trade, educate, or amuse.
