Michael Madsen has formally filed for divorce from his wife, stating that he has been the victim of her abuse for years. He also claims that he feels she was the driving force behind their son’s decision to take his own life.
The petition for divorce was submitted by the actor on Wednesday, alleging irreconcilable differences in the document. He also said that he had truly split from his estranged wife, DeAnna Madsen, in January of 2022.
Despite the fact that he marked the box indicating that there are irreconcilable differences, Madsen also filed a statement with the petition, in which he said that the disagreement extends much beyond merely not being able to see eye to eye.
MM claims that he divorced his wife in the year 22 because he feels that “her neglect, drinking, and alcoholism” were the factors that led to their son Hudson taking his own life.
Madsen goes on to suggest that DeAnna, whom he married in 1996, was a contributing factor in his own problems. She was the one who placed him in a “abusive, co-dependent, and toxic relationship,” which he claims culminated in his erroneous arrest for domestic violence last month.
According to what you are aware, Madsen was taken into custody a month ago on a charge of minor domestic violence after the police said that he pushed DeAnna. Not shortly after that, he posted a bail of twenty thousand dollars.
With that being said, the District Attorney for Los Angeles County informed us the next week that they would not be filing charges because there was not enough evidence. Additionally, Madsen is now in the process of obtaining a domestic violence restraining order of his own, in addition to the divorce.
According to the representative for Madsen, who told us at the time that he was pleased that his client could put the arrest behind him, it seems that he is now doing the same thing with the marriage.
Michael’s management and publicist refused to speak more on the matter later. DeAnna was contacted, but we have not received any response as of yet.
