In recent times, Bill Gates has gained valuable insights on generational differences from his daughter Phoebe, who is 22 years old.
On Wednesday, September 18, the billionaire co-founder of Microsoft and philanthropist released a unique blog post in celebration of the launching of his new documentary series on Netflix titled What’s Next? With Bill Gates, the Future is Here.
Throughout my life, I have always envisioned myself as a student who is attempting to get to the bottom of things. I consider it a successful day when I am able to go to sleep with a little bit more information than I had when I got up in the morning,” he added. “It is a day that I am happy with.” Consequently, when I am trying to figure out how I will spend my time in the present day, I often ask myself three questions: Will I have fun? Does my presence make a difference? “And will I acquire any new knowledge?”
What is the most recent thing that he has learned? It’s simply that today’s youth aren’t interested in Facebook. Or send an email.
The chat that takes place between Gates, who is 68 years old, and Phoebe, who is the youngest of the three children that he has with his ex-wife Melinda French Gates, proves to be one of the most memorable moments in the new episode.
In point of fact, Bill noted that out of all the discussions he had, the one he had with Phoebe was his “favorite.”
“Few people in your life can be as direct with you as your own children,” wrote the self-proclaimed “proud papa.” “Proud papa”
He concluded by saying, “Phoebe and I talked about growing up with social media, how to become sophisticated about its use, how not to feed the trolls, how to seek out different viewpoints, and the important lesson (for me, at least) that no one uses Facebook or email anymore.”

During a certain segment of the program, which is now accessible to view on Netflix, Bill said that he found it enjoyable “when she told me never to email her.” This particular segment is available to stream on Netflix.
When I questioned her why she did not use e-mail for personal interactions, she responded by saying, “No one uses e-mail anymore.” Simply send me a text message,'” he said.
Bill, on the other hand, said that despite the fact that he had undoubtedly listened to his youngest daughter, who is not only a recent graduate of Stanford University but also a co-founder of Phia, a future digital fashion platform, and a “incredible advocate for women’s rights and women’s health,” he has devised a solution of his own.

“In the end, I was able to meet her halfway. These days, I send her a text message to let her know that I am about to write her an email,” he stated. And in the end, we’ve found ourselves conversing more on the phone than in person. As soon as What’s Next? is out, I can’t wait to hear her thoughts on it and see how her advocacy work will affect the world. I can’t wait to see how her effort will make a difference.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Bill discussed how the process of working on his Netflix documentary series almost didn’t seem like labor since “it wasn’t hard in any way.”
“It was a real chance to talk about topics that I care about and I have views on,” he said, adding, “and I learned a lot on the subject.”
At the moment, each and every episode of What’s Next? The Future with Bill Gates is available to view on Netflix.
