After Karate Chop figured out how to use a doggie door for the first time, he liked to spend his time outdoors either sunning on the patio or keeping an eye on things from the fence. The actual trouble didn’t start until he started going on short expeditions around the cul-de-sac where he and his family reside. One day, he decided to start doing this, and that’s when things got out of hand.

Karate Chop began bringing weird items home from his travels, such as a mop head, a bucket hat, hand towels, gloves, and plastic flowers – you name it, there’s a good chance Karate Chop has brought anything home at some point. His abilities never failed to enthrall and perplex his family members at any given moment. Where exactly did he come up with all of these things? Then, out of the blue, he decided to start wearing shoes instead.

“He has been bringing home odd ‘treasures’ for about a year now, but shoes became a favorite in the last six months, and apparently he really likes Nike,” Karate Chop’s mother Samantha Foster told The Dodo. “He has been bringing home odd ‘treasures’ for about a year now.” “He really got my attention when he brought one all the way up to my bedroom,” she said. “I had no idea what it was.” It was a pair of tennis shoes in a toddler’s size. My thoughts kept going back to that poor mother, and how she must be scratching her head and wondering whether she’s going to go crazy hunting for that lost shoe. I even put a post up on Facebook to check if somebody in the area had already claimed it.

The neighborhood soon became aware of Karate Chop’s thefts, and as a result, when someone noticed they were missing a shoe, they knew just where to search for it. Karate Chop was caught red-handed in the act of stealing.

“To my great fortune, I live in a cul-de-sac with some wonderful neighbors, because after so many times of me asking, ‘My cat brought this home — is it yours?'” “I was asked if I had seen their missing shoe,” Foster claimed. “I received a message asking me this question.” “Not only did I in fact find the missing shoe in my backyard, but Karate Chop had the AUDACITY to follow me, meowing along the way as we returned his first Nike,” the man said. “Not only did I in fact find the missing shoe in my backyard, but it was a size too big.”

Because of this, Foster and all of her neighbors have been collaborating through Facebook and word of mouth in order to return the stolen shoes to the people who are legally entitled to them, much to Karate Chop’s continual consternation.

“It was not long after our initial walk of shame to return a Nike that there was a post [on] our neighborhood Facebook page from someone who had left their shoes out to dry overnight and woke up to find one missing,” Foster said. “The walk of shame we did to return the Nike was not long after that.” “Karate Chop’s first victim told me the information, and despite the fact that I had direct knowledge of who it may be, I simply could not accept it. It was right there. In my own little garden.”

Despite getting arrested, it seems that Karate Chop has no intention of ever stopping stealing shoes, and more specifically Nikes, any time in the near future. Even though his mother does not exhibit the same level of appreciation for his presents as he believes she ought to, he still likes going on hunting expeditions and coming home with trophies to display them to his mother.

“It is abundantly clear that the walk of shame is offensive, and [he] curses me the entire time,” said Foster. “[T]he walk of shame is offensive.”
