Liz Cheney is not going to sit on the sidelines during this election. She recently told a class at Duke University that she is not only not going to vote for Donald Trump, but that she is also going to show her support for Kamala Harris.
“Defending Democracy: A Conversation with Liz Cheney” was the title of the conversation that the former congresswoman participated in on Wednesday evening. During the course of the conversation, she once again brought up the threat that she believes Trump represents to democratic institutions.
According to LC, the threat posed by DJT is so great that individuals in swing states are unable to vote for random write-in candidates either; they are required to submit a vote that is for something that genuinely matters.
Liz, for her part, has said that she will supporting Kamala Harris during the November election, despite the fact that she continues to be a strongly conservative. She has stated that she will check the box next to her name. An ecstatic round of applause is heard from the crowd.
Although it is not exactly shocking that Cheney is supporting Harris, it is important to note that she and Trump do not get along very well.
Liz was removed from her position as a member of the House Republican leadership when she questioned Donald Trump’s assertions that the election had been stolen from him. Additionally, Trump endorsed Harriet Hageman, who succeeded Cheney in Congress, in the election of 2022.
Since then, Trump has demanded that Cheney be imprisoned for investigating him in connection with the January 6 uprising, and it is quite evident that there is not much love and affection between the two of them.
It would seem like Cheney is giving in to the blues… at least for this election.
