Whether it’s a quick romance between two young stars or a longstanding relationship that’s gone bad, it’s safe to say that relationships in Hollywood are full of both excitement and complexities. Their marriage has endured the test of time for Pierce Brosnan and his wife, and on August 4, 2023, they celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary. Their connection has stood the test of time. It is obvious that they are blissfully in love each time they are seen together, and Pierce has made several public confessions of his love for his wife on multiple occasions.

Pierce is an Irish actor who first gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the fictional British secret agent James Bond in four different espionage movies, including “GoldenEye,” “Tomorrow Never Dies,” “The World Is Not Enough,” and “Die Another Day.” In addition to that, he has played the role of the protagonist in a number of video games set in the same world.

Pierce dropped out of school when he was 16 years old and went on to pursue further education at the Drama Centre in London, England, for a total of three years. After obtaining employment as a theater actor, he transitioned into television and movies. One of his first breakout appearances was in the television series “Remington Steele,” which aired between the years 1982 and 1987. After that, he was able to achieve a greater level of success with films such as “The Fourth Protocol” and “Mrs. Doubtfire.”

Slowly, slowly, and even slower than that. It is painful. You have no choice except to remain seated and put up with it. There is nothing further that can be done; it will not disappear.”

But he was able to bear it, and in April 1994, three years after that, his life would undergo a dramatic transformation.

He would meet the lady he would later marry, an American journalist named Keely Shaye Smith, during a party in Cabo San Lucas, which was located in Mexico.

In an interview with PEOPLE that took place in 2001, Smith referred to the actor as “captivating,” adding that he was “tall, dark, and handsome – everything that everybody would immediately be attracted to.” His eyes held a gleam that suggested he was up to no good. I couldn’t help but think, ‘Wow! Wow!'”

In his own words, Pierce expressed the same sentiments:

“In Keely Shaye, I discovered a wonderful lady…. Not even if I looked for it a million times over would I find one that was just as excellent as this.”

On August 4, 2001, the couple tied the knot in Ireland, and they have been blessed with two children: Dylan Brosnan and Paris Brosnan. In addition to this, Smith took on the role of stepmother to Pierce’s two boys, Chris and Sean.

Due to the fact that Smith put on some more weight after giving birth to their two children, she received a lot of severe criticism over the way that she looked. “Keely surprised me with this watch a number of years ago. It has an inscription that reads, ‘Time flies on love’s wings.'” I thought it would seem appropriate for this role, so I wore it. It made sense,” he said, following which Smith made a remark along the lines of “I love those symbols, that he brought them with him into the superpower, superhero domain.”

No matter what challenges life has thrown at Pierce and Smith, they have remained steadfast in their commitment to one another, supporting one another while seeming to be as head over heels in love as they were when they first met.
