After attending the Barbie premiere only a few hours earlier, Ty Pennington was taken to the hospital and intubated. He is now providing his followers with an update on his condition.
On July 14, Pennington, who is best known for his role as the carpenter on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, posted images of himself on Instagram while he was dressed in a hospital gown.
Before Pennington was able to restore consciousness, he was under the influence of an intubation. “What a week it has been, traveling from the red carpet to the intensive care unit!”
Following this, Pennington addressed his followers by saying, “I’m okay now, still recovering, but I felt it looked strange that I hadn’t posted about my team’s #BOTB VICTORY!” My heart is filled with pride for both @smashingdiy and @iamstevelewis!
Following that, Pennington proceeded to provide a description of the events that transpired. “To explain why I fell out of sight… On Sunday, I went to the red carpet for Barbie the Movie. On Monday, I drove to Colorado to begin shooting in Breckinridge. On Tuesday, I woke up at approximately four in the morning, hardly able to breathe. It has come to my attention that the sore throat I have been experiencing for the last month is really an abscess that has developed to the point that it is obstructing my airway. After being intubated, I was sent to the intensive care unit in Denver.
“I had surgery on Wednesday, and I was discharged from the intensive care unit yesterday afternoon,” the patient said. I would want to express my gratitude to Summit Health in Frisco and St. Anthony’s in Lakewood, Colorado, for providing me with such excellent medical treatment. The phrase “Just happy to be here” was written by Pennington underneath the hashtag, and it serves as a wonderful reminder to pay attention to your body when it is attempting to communicate with you.
How horrible it is! We are overjoyed to learn that Pennington is now in good health and making progress in his recovery.
