On the other hand, those who do not actively pursue fame for themselves are also being found. The only thing that is often required for “the little guys” to feel like they are in the limelight in this day and age of smartphones and the internet is for a video of theirs to go viral on the internet.
In the city of Logan, which is located in the state of West Virginia, Kayla Slone, who is 21 years old, is now working as an employee at a Walmart. She has a wonderful voice that is perfect for the country music genre, but at the time, not everyone was aware of her skill as a country singer.
The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville has been Slone’s dream venue for as long as she can remember, and she has always had a strong affinity for singing.
But in contrast to a great number of other individuals, she did not actively see the accomplishment of her objective in her mind before it really occurred.
It is said that Slone and her brother collaborated on a “homemade album” when Slone was 15 years old; however, the album was never released under any circumstances.
When Slone was in the middle of her shift, she suddenly started singing loudly and excitedly while she was waiting in line at the cash machine. She was in the middle of her shift.
The cashier’s spontaneous act was captured on film by one of the customers, who decided to whip out their phone and record it.
Slone, who boasts a beautiful country voice, covered the well-known song “Coat of Many Colors,” which was first sung by Dolly Parton in 1971. Slone’s rendition of the song was a hit. In 2011, Slone’s performance of the song was made available to the public.
The video shows Slone wearing a name tag and toying with a pen. Slone may be seen in the footage. During the time that she is looking out the window, she is singing the words in a voice that is so achingly sorrowful that it could only be that of an angel.
I had the impression that I was as affluent as it was possible for me to be, despite the fact that we had very little money.
“My mother made a coat for me that was a variety of colors,” I said.
Slone gave a performance that was not only unrehearsed but also improvised, and there was not a single microphone or any other kind of additional equipment present throughout the performance.
On the other hand, the video quickly received extensive recognition not even a short time after it was posted to the internet. Instead, it attracted notoriety almost immediately.
Customers began to recognize the West Virginia cashier, who was married to a coal miner, and they began to request that she sing in the shop so that they could have a better understanding of her.
Additionally, Slone started taking part in other interview shows, one of which was for ABC News.
During the recording that took place at the Walmart where she worked, she expressed how surprised she was to learn that her performance had turned out to be such a huge success.
Furthermore, she disclosed to the TV station that one of her objectives was to do a performance at the Grand Ole Opry while she was still alive.
