Shannen Doherty is experiencing a sense of “unknown” in her life.

During the episode of her podcast, Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, which aired on June 24, the actress revealed that things had been “exhausting” for her recently. She also discussed her divorce and her struggle through cancer treatment.

“It is obvious that getting a divorce is not an easy process, particularly when you really loved someone. I did adore my spouse, the truth is. “And when you get so hurt by their actions that you just feel betrayed and like a sucker, it’s really hard,” she remarked, alluding to the end of her marriage to Kurt Iswarienko, which had lasted for eleven years.

At the same time, Doherty, who is 53 years old, is “going through a lot of health stuff” as she starts a fresh round of chemotherapy.

In reference to the medication that is necessary for her stage 4 breast cancer, which she disclosed to PEOPLE the previous year had gone to her bones, she said, “It becomes very real in an incredibly different way, because I have no idea how long I’m going to be on the chemo for.” “I have no idea if it’s gonna be 3 months or if it’s gonna be 6 months or if we’re gonna — if after 3 months, it’s not working, if we’re gonna change again.”

It is not possible for me to make a prediction on it. My physicians are unable to make any prognostications about it. As for the terrifying aspect, she confessed.

She said that she will begin her first round of chemotherapy “probably a couple of days after this episode is out.” Around the time that she taped the episode, she was rapidly nearing the beginning of her chemotherapy treatment.

“To just be walking into the unknown — I just feel like my life has been unknown for over a year now, between divorce and cancer.”

Reflecting on her split from Iswarienko, Doherty said it’s “not the most pleasant thing” as she conceded she may “never be ready to discuss the full details” of the demise of the relationship.

“There’s so many different nuances that people will never understand,” she said in addition to saying, “I don’t understand why people find it so fascinating.”

She is continuing to navigate the separation and is beginning a new part of her cancer journey. The former cast member of Beverly Hills, 90210 has requested “privacy” throughout this experience. “I am going through a lot of things. In addition, I will share it whenever I feel the need to do so.

When Doherty disclosed in November 2023 that her stage 4 breast cancer had spread to her bones, she told PEOPLE that she felt compelled to “look for the bigger purpose in life.” This was after the disease had returned after being in remission for two years.

“I know it sounds cheesy and crazy, but you’re just more aware of everything, and you feel so blessed,” she remarked in response.

“My most memorable experience is yet to come. I say a prayer. Whenever I wake up and before I go to bed, I give thanks to God and pray for the things that are important to me without making excessive requests.
