Ryan Paevey, veterans of the Hallmark Channel, is taking “a step back from acting.”

Paevey, who has been in a number of Hallmark films, such as “Marrying Mr. Darcy,” “Christmas at the Plaza,” “Two Tickets to Paradise,” and “A Fabled Holiday,” has said in a message posted on Instagram, which Heavy was the first to report, that he intends to concentrate on other professional ventures.

First and first, I must admit that I am a little anxious about the fact that I am even required to make a statement such as this,” he said. “I am certainly accustomed to a certain degree of gossip, but the past few weeks in particular have gotten out of control with speculation from third parties that have taken my words and expanded upon them to meet their narrative, or flat out misrepresented my words or misconstrued their meaning,” I said. “It is impossible for me to control the amount of gossip that has been going around.”

According to the actor, who is 39 years old, he has always been “an open book, and one who speaks his mind truthfully and directly.” He also said that it is terrible that we live in a society where social media makes it extremely simple to distort one’s words.

He said that he is “often unaware it is even happening until someone from my team messages me in a panic,” which seems to be a reference to online imposters. As a result, he decided to cancel his account on X, which was once known as Twitter.

“As I’ve stated before, I am taking a step back from acting, something I’ve felt I’ve needed to do for a while now, and a decision that has proven to be absolutely necessary in the past few weeks,” said the former actor from General Hospital, who played the role of Nathan West on the ABC serial opera from 2013 to 2018.

Paevey then revealed the psychological and financial toll that his acting career has had on him, saying, “The industry hasn’t felt like the place for me in quite some time now, and my mental health has suffered as a result of it.” Paevey’s acting profession has had a detrimental impact on his mental health. It has brought me to a little bit of a dark place, and it has transformed me into a version of myself that I do not really like. I have expressed some of my anger and fury in a public setting, and I sincerely apologize for that occurrence.

The waves have been considerably rougher over the course of the last year or two, he said. “I have had many years of smooth sailing, and I am very fortunate to be able to say that,” he said. “I am aware that I am not the only one going through this; it seems that almost everyone, whether they are in Hollywood or not, is going through difficult times to some degree. I’ve had my bank accounts hacked, money stolen, investments taken, and other things that, although being tough to recover from, are not impossible to recover from. But after all that had happened, my mother was given a diagnosis of lung cancer. Because I wanted to be closer to her, I moved away from Los Angeles. I now feel the need to spend more of my time, energy, and money to being closer to home.

Paevey said that despite the challenging circumstances, it was not “all bad news” since he had “so much to be grateful for” during the course of his career.

I would want to express my gratitude to the whole industry, as he wrote. “I am thankful to General Hospital for giving a green actor a chance and for allowing him to go through his learning curve. I am thankful to Hallmark for changing my life and taking me to places that have become my favorite on Earth. I am thankful to my managers for seeing something in a grunt with no resume and helping to architect a whole new trajectory and life for him. I am thankful to all of YOU who have helped raise up this handyman and bartender and for taking him on an adventure that lasted for ten years and that he could never have imagined. “There are so many things for which I am grateful, and there is not a single day that goes by in which I do not think about it.”

Having said all of this, he came to the conclusion that he was merely moving his emphasis closer to his family. I have discovered another creative endeavor that is fulfilling in the form of Fortunate Wanderer, which is an outdoor apparel company. I have plans to expand it, start adventuring more, and share those adventures in the hope that we will all continue to be connected. I will share more information about this once I have a better understanding of how to accomplish this. Although I am aware that this is a lot, I wanted to make sure that you all heard it from me personally. I am really grateful that you have chosen to accompany me on this adventure, and I wish for all of us that there is more to come in the future.

The Hallmark company has been contacted by PEOPLE for a response.

Paevey, who has been in more than 15 Hallmark films, made the announcement that he would be discontinuing his acting career for the first time on April 9 via a series of comments posted on social media.

“Unfortunately, there is no mention of a movie… According to TV Insider, Paevey stated in a Twitter on an X account that has since been deleted, “I may take 2024 off from filming, unless the project is with friends for the time being.” “The past eight months of my life in this industry have left a pretty bitter taste in my mouth, and I need some time away from a world that is so full of fake friends and empty promises,” she said. I’m exhausted… ”

He proceeded by saying, “I had a fantastic run.” I am content with my uncomplicated existence, which consists of supporting my younger brother and going surfing on a regular basis. There are many things for which I am thankful, and I will find a way to make ends meet even if I do not get any money from performing. Who knows, maybe a movie may come along. It would be good to have insurance, lol…
