Angel Reese wants people to respect her name. The standout rookie for the Chicago Sky believes that she should be given credit for making the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) prominent today, and not only for Caitlin Clark.
His comments came only a few days after Angel’s teammate Chennedy Carter took a cheap shot at the number one overall choice, which resulted in a flagrant foul and a lot of criticism. Reese’s words come just a few days after her first game against Clark, which was clearly not without controversy.
It was not only Carter who was the target of the anger… Moreover, Reese received her share of the blame for the way she responded to the harsh foul. She was questioned about the events that took place during the game on Saturday.
After Monday’s practice, Reese said, “I’ve been dealing with this for two years now.” He went on to say that the national championship game was the beginning of everything that has transpired since then.
Reese added that she is OK with the fact that she will always be the “bad guy” in the situation.

However, Reese, who was selected seventh overall, wants to make sure that everyone is aware that the spike in popularity in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) is NOT all due to Clark, as many people have said recently.
“The reason is not only due to a single individual. The reason for this is also due to me, and I want you to understand that,” Reese said. “It’s not just because of one person.”
“A lot of us have done so much for this game … there are so many great players in this league that have deserved this for a really really long time and luckily, it’s coming now.”
Carter also met with the media, during which she addressed the dirty play for the very first time (during the weekend, she declined to answer any questions that were sent her way about Clark). In spite of the criticism, she does not have any regrets.
In his statement, the shooting guard said, “I believe that at the end of the day, I am a competitor.” “I’m going to compete regardless of who you are and regardless of who is in front of me,” she said.
It was a “heat of the moment play,” said Carter. “The game is basketball. “It’s all about hoops.”
