A fresh honor has been taken away from Robert De Niro as a result of his most recent round of criticism directed at Donald Trump. This is due to the fact that an organization has announced that they are rescinding the award that they had intended to bestow upon him, citing his political stance as the reason.
The actor was scheduled to accept an award from the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) the following week in Washington, DC. The honor in question was the NAB Leadership Foundation’s Service to America Award. However, it seems that Bob’s appearance in New York City this week prior to Trump’s conviction is the most contentious point in this matter.
According to the organization, “This event is proudly bipartisan, uniting those from across the political spectrum to celebrate the impactful work of local broadcasters and our partners.”
The National Association of Business Administrators said “While we strongly support the right of every American to exercise free speech and participate in civic engagement, it is clear that Mr. De Niro’s recent high-profile activities will create a distraction from the philanthropic work that we were hoping to recognize.”
They conclude by making the following statement: “To maintain the focus on service of the award winners, Mr. De Niro will no longer be attending the event” It is worthy of note that RDN has previously provided a response to this.
He said in an interview with The Hill “I support the work of the NAB Leadership Foundation and would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for what the Foundation has done and will continue to do for the good of us all, and I wish them well for their continued good work.”
It’s surprising that the National Accountability Bureau is taking this away from him, particularly considering how anti-Trump the individual is and has been for years, including the fact that he has been quite vocal about his opposition to the president.
Bob has, on several times, hurled countless slurs at Trump and his fans, and he has also beaten the crap out of him. However, it seems that this time around, he went farther than he should have.
