Kelly Hyland, who is known for her role on Dance Moms, is speaking up about her diagnosis of breast cancer.
Due to the fact that she discovered a lump in her breast in late March, the reality actress, who is 53 years old, said that she had been diagnosed with invasive carcinoma grade 3 when speaking to E! News reporters.
Hyland said, “So I decided to get a mammogram for myself.” I had recently finished having one done eight months previously, and the findings came back free of any contamination. In contrast, this fresh mammography and ultrasonography did not reveal a tumor; rather, it revealed the presence of a mass.
“I went from having clean results to having a malignant mass in eight months,” Hyland said in an interview with the channel. “I was shocked that it had grown that quickly and scared of the battle I knew I was about to face.”
According to the reality personality, the “first red flag” that she experienced prior to receiving the diagnosis was her “significant weight loss.”
“I lost enough that others noticed and would ask for my dieting hacks, but there was nothing I had changed in my day-to-day to cause the loss,” she said during the conversation with reporters.
The moment had come for Hyland to break the news to her and Randy Hyland’s children, Brooke, 26, Paige, 23, and Josh, 24, that they had been diagnosed with cancer. Hyland was aware that this would be a “very difficult conversation.”
During the time when her children were in Pittsburgh, Hyland was required to deliver the news from Florida. “Given the circumstances, I would have preferred to have informed them in person; however, a phone call was the best I could achieve given the situation.” For the purpose of informing all of my children at the same time and ensuring that they were all provided with the same information, I made a four-way call with all of them using the telephone.
In spite of the fact that her children continue to have optimism, they are aware that the family has a “long road” ahead of them following the loss of their grandma to cancer in 2019, as Paige said to the source.
It has been verified by the source that Hyland is presently getting chemotherapy and is currently in the second of six rounds of treatments. This will be followed by surgery, radiotherapy, and then eleven further treatments.

“I have a long journey ahead of me,” she added, adding that she would be attending the sessions with family members that lasted roughly ten hours. “They are very long appointments.” Because of this, I do not want to allocate that obligation to a single individual.
Her “extremely supportive” fellow Dance Mom stars have also come together to provide their assistance, in addition to the support that she receives from her family members. Hyland, who is presently undergoing treatment in Pittsburgh with her elder sister Carrie Matarazzo and her husband Dom, is currently living with her family members.
She is continuing to shoot her podcasts, Dear Dance Mom… and Back to the Barre, in an effort to maintain a life that is “as normal as possible.”
According to what Hyland shared with the source, “the most challenging aspect for me has been accepting assistance from the people around me.” “I am a very independent person and, as a mom, I’m used to being the one taking care of people, not the one being taken care of.”
“I hate feeling like I am inconveniencing anyone or being a burden in anyway,” she continued talking about. “However, I am quickly learning I am on a very long and tough road, so I am going to need to learn to accept people’s help because I am very lucky to have people that want to take care of me during this time.”
