Following the filing of a lawsuit by Riley Keough against the financing business that was seeking to sell the Graceland estate, the sale of the estate has been canceled.
The battle that Riley Keough fought to prevent the sale of Graceland, the estate that belonged to her grandpa Elvis Presley, from going into foreclosure has resulted in a spectacular triumph. ET can confirm that the corporation that Keough filed a lawsuit against, accusing them of attempting to swindle her family into selling Graceland, has relinquished all claims on the property. Keough’s complaint was filed against the company.
“We can confirm that the Trust attorney stated that he received an email from [the company] saying that they will not be moving forward with their claim,” a representative for Graceland said in a statement to ET after the release of the statement.
In the beginning of May, a public notice was published that announced the sale of the 13-acre estate that was being foreclosed upon. According to the notification, the Graceland Museum’s management company, Promenade Trust, owing $3.8 million for a loan that was taken out in 2018. After her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, passed away a year ago, Keough was given the trust and ownership of Graceland as a result of her inheritance.

The organization that issued the notice of foreclosure said that Lisa Marie had borrowed $3.8 million and provided them with a deed of trust that encumbered Graceland as collateral prior to her loss, but she had failed to return the debt. Keough, who was representing the Promenade Trust, brought a complaint on May 20 stating that the corporation had produced fake paperwork about the loan and the outstanding money as recently as September 2023. Keough’s case was filed on behalf of the Promenade Trust.
A restraining order was requested by Keough to be issued against them in advance of the rumored sale of Graceland that would take place without the involvement of the court.
“There is no foreclosure sale,” Elvis Presley Enterprises Inc., the company that administers Graceland, said in a statement that was sent to ET on Tuesday. To put it another way, the counter case has been launched in order to put an end to the deception.
A temporary injunction against the auction, which was set to take place on Thursday, was issued by a court in Tennessee on Wednesday. Because of this ruling, the sale of the estate was put on hold until a hearing could be held to decide who ought to be the legitimate owner.
In response to the decision that was handed down by the court on Wednesday, Elvis Presley Enterprises issued the following statement: “As the court has now made clear, there was no validity to the claims.” Not a single foreclosure will take place. Graceland will continue to function in the same manner that it has for the previous 42 years, guaranteeing that Elvis fans from all over the globe will continue to have the opportunity to be treated to the very finest experience possible when they visit his famous house.
It is well known that Keough has followed in the footsteps of her legendary grandpa, but she has done it on her own principles. The Daisy Jones & The Six actress, who is 34 years old, sat down with Entertainment Tonight in February 2023 to talk about her highly anticipated Prime Video series. During the course of the conversation, she mused on the idea of carrying on the musical history of her family.
Putting that kind of strain on it is not something I would do. I have no idea whether there is any way to carry on the heritage of my grandpa; it seems to me to be a completely different entity. However, I found the experience to be a lot of fun,” Riley added in reference to the production of the performance. “At the moment, I am not a musician, but I suppose that I am. Throughout my whole life, I have had a strong interest in movies, and as a result, it was even more exciting for me to be able to have a connection with music in that manner.
“I’ve listened to music and my whole family are musicians and I’ve been around this world a lot and been on tour and all that kind of stuff,” she continued talking about. Nevertheless, I had never actually done anything on my own. Therefore, for me, it was more about my personal connection with the opportunity to perform music, which was both enjoyable and enjoyable.
