In October, Matthew Perry passed away as a result of the acute effects of ketamine.
This is the first time that Courteney Cox has discussed her long-lasting relationship with Matthew Perry.
In an interview that aired on CBS Sunday Morning, the actress who played Friends, who is now 59 years old, said that she continues to communicate with her late co-star and that she often senses his presence.
She divulges, “He visits me a lot, if we believe in that,” in reference to the communication she experiences with folks who are in the afterlife.
Adding, “I talk to my mom, my dad, and Matthew,” she continues. “I feel like there are a lot of people that are — I think that guide us.”
Continuing, Cox says, “I have a strong feeling that Matthew is nearby.”

During their time on the long-running NBC series, which ran from 1994 to 2004, Cox and Perry had a very strong on-screen connection. They played the roles of Monica Geller and Chandler Bing, respectively. In the seventh season of the drama, the well-liked pair played the roles of friends who eventually became lovers and were married.
“I think he’s probably one of the funniest human beings in the world,” says Cox of Perry. “I love him so much.” Simply said, he is hilarious. In all honesty, he has a really big heart. There is little doubt that he struggled.
She also makes the observation that “I’m so thankful I got to work so closely with him for so many years.”
According to the findings of his autopsy, Perry passed away on October 28 at his residence in Los Angeles as a result of the acute effects of ketamine. He was 54 years old.
Jennifer Aniston, who also graduated from Friends, expressed to Entertainment Tonight (ET) earlier this year that the most appropriate approach to recognize Perry was to “celebrate him.”

The most recent comments made by Cox came few weeks after the Friends series finale celebrated its twentieth anniversary. This is the first significant anniversary that the show has marked since Perry’s passing, and it is a tremendous accomplishment.
It was not known at the time that Friends: The Reunion, a 2021 Max special, would be the last time the group would get together publicly as the popular sextet of eponymous friends whose viewers loved to follow through life changes, family conflict, and romantic ups and downs. The ensemble reunited for the special, which was titled Friends: The Reunion.
During the streaming special, the ensemble, which included Perry, Aniston, Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc, got back together for the first time in public since their last episode aired on May 6, 2004. They did so by reuniting on their old studio and the sets that they had used for their television show for a total of ten seasons. The remaining five would meet together one again for Perry’s funeral, which would take place around two and a half years after Perry’s passing.
