Sending warm wishes to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on their anniversary!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on May 19, only a few days after they returned to California from a trip to Nigeria that lasted for three days.

The royal wedding of Meghan, who is 42 years old, and Harry, who is 39 years old, took place on May 19, 2018, in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. A number of members of the couple’s family and friends were present at the fairytale wedding. These individuals included Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, the future King Charles, the future Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. The mother of Meghan, Doria Ragland, was present at the occasion and walked out of the church with her daughter’s new father-in-law, who accompanied her as she made her way down the aisle during the ceremony.

Following the conclusion of the church ceremony, Meghan and Prince Harry took a journey in a horse-drawn carriage around Windsor in order to acknowledge the crowds that had gathered along the streets. They then attended a reception in the afternoon in St. George’s Hall of the castle, and then they changed their attire for the evening event. Meghan wore a sleek Stella McCartney gown for the occasion, while Harry wore a tuxedo.

The couple published never-before-seen photographs of the wedding celebrations in the documentary Harry and Meghan, which was released on Netflix in December 2022. Among the photos was a recording of their first dance together as husband and wife, which was performed to the song “Land of 1,000 Dances” by Wilson Pickett.

“All I wanted was for the music to really be enjoyable. Even right down to our very first dance,” Meghan says in the story.

According to a source who spoke to People at the time, “It was a huge dance party, everyone was letting loose and having a blast.” A night that was not at all stuffy and it was just enjoyable.”

A low-key celebration of Meghan and Prince Harry’s one-year wedding anniversary in 2019 was described in the book Finding Freedom, which gave information of the celebration. Doria had flown to the United Kingdom in order to see her grandson, Prince Archie, who had been born on May 6th, only a few weeks previously. During their time together, they had a lunch.

The writers Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand said that on the occasion of the celebration of their first year of marriage, Harry and Meghan celebrated their anniversary by having a typical Sunday lunch with Doria. This was Doria’s last dinner before she traveled back to Los Angeles.

Another present that Prince Harry gave to Meghan was an eternity ring, which she wore for the first time during Trooping the Colour the following month.

“Harry also surprised his wife of one year with a ring that he had created with the jeweler to the stars Lorraine Schwartz, a favorite of Meghan’s,” the writers were quoted as saying.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are parents to two children—Prince Archie, who is five years old, and Princess Lilibet, who is two years old—have a customary practice of exchanging presents on the occasion of their wedding anniversary.

“They love to do their own take on traditional wedding gifts,” they said in a recent interview with People, according to a source. “The first anniversary was paper, and Meghan wrote out the wedding speech and had it framed for him.”

During their second anniversary in the year 2020, shortly after they moved to California after returning to their roles as working members of the royal family, “they both gave each other gifts based on ‘cotton.'” Considering that all of their presents are intended for one another, it is without a doubt a really imaginative and romantic gesture.

The customary present for the third anniversary is leather, followed by fruits and flowers for the fourth year, and then wood for the fifth year with the fifth anniversary.

As stated by The Knot, the sixth anniversary is generally the time when presents of iron are shared between the couple.

As part of their efforts to promote Harry’s Invictus Games, which Nigeria participated in for the first time last year, Meghan and Prince Harry flew to Nigeria this month. Their purpose was to advocate for the mental health programs that their Archewell Foundation is implementing for young people.

During an interview with People, the Duke of Sussex expressed his happiness on the expansion of Invictus and the inclusion of Nigeria. Throughout the years, you are aware of what Africa has meant to me. In addition to the fact that it is a very, very wonderful location, the fact that Nigeria is now a part of Invictus makes me extremely glad.

In addition, Meghan felt a stronger connection to her heritage as a result of the journey. She took a genealogical test in 2022 and found out that she is 43% Nigerian according to the results.

“It was incredibly memorable and special,” Meghan recalls of their time spent in Nigeria describing their trip there. “That alone is the best souvenir to take with us — all the memories we’ve made.”

The parents of two children are looking forward to further possibilities for travel in order to advance their efforts.

There is a limit to how much one can do just working from home and using Zoom, which is why we are looking forward to traveling more since the job is important. According to Prince Harry, there will always be opportunities to meet the individuals who are at the center of our work, regardless of whether it is the Archewell Foundation, Invictus, or any of our other causes.
