Harrison Butker, a kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, has been called out by Flavor Flav after the NFL player made a contentious commencement address at Benedictine College’s graduation ceremony.

During his address on May 11, Butker criticized working women, abortion, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and surrogacy. He also exhorted male graduates to “fight against the cultural emasculation of men.” Butker’s speech was delivered on May 11.

At one point during the twenty-minute speech, Butker cited a poem written by Taylor Swift, referring to her simply as his “teammate’s girlfriend,” which was a reference to Travis Kelce, who is her boyfriend.

“As my teammate’s girlfriend says, ‘familiarity breeds contempt,'” Butker said to reporters. Swift, who is 34 years old, performs the lyric about “Bejeweled” on her album Midnights, which will be released in 2022.

After the graduating address, there was a flood of criticism directed at the kicker, including criticism from Swift’s friend Flav, who is 65 years old.

However, Flav moved to X (which was then known as Twitter) in order to criticize Butker after the speech was shared on various social media platforms. “Sounds like some players ‘need to stay in their lanes’ and shouldn’t be giving commencement speeches,” he said in his article.

Butker’s characterization of women as “homemakers” and Swift’s portrayal of her as a “teammate’s girlfriend” was deemed inappropriate by the fans of both the rapper and Swift, who expressed their agreement with the rapper’s remark.

“Facts,” wrote one of the users. The fact that it took place at the Catholic college graduation is irrelevant to me. It is a terrible idea to regard women just for their roles as wives and mothers, rather than for who they are as individuals. As a Christian mother of two daughters who is married to their father and works full-time, I continue to regard myself as a person who has interests and goals,” I said in response to Flav.

This is what another account said: “I adore Flav. Supporting women’s sports and women in general by taking action and taking action.

During his presentation, Butker said that “Things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as a growing support for degenerative cultural values in media all stem from the pervasiveness of disorder.”
After that, he addressed the grads in a manner that was specific to their genders.

“For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment,” he started, addressing the women. “I am grateful for your presence today.” “I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you.”

“I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world,” Butker added. “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage.”

Butker gave a speech in which he encouraged the male graduates to “fight against the cultural emasculation of men” and to “be unapologetic in your masculinity.” He also told them to “be unapologetic in your masculinity.”

Butker has said that he is “beyond blessed” because Isabelle “would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: Homemaker.” This is because Isabelle is his wife.

“Isabelle’s dream of having a career might not have come true, but if you ask her today if she has any regrets on her decision, she would laugh out loud without hesitation, and say, ‘Hey, no.'”

A representative for Butker and the Kansas City Chiefs have both been contacted by PEOPLE in an effort to collect their thoughts.
