The NBA icon Charles Barkley has recently been targeted with a number of billboards across the city of Galveston, Texas, after he voiced his disapproval of the area on national television. This rivalry is far from finished.
As was previously reported, Chuck caused a stir in the Queen City of the Gulf by asserting that the city had “dirty ass water” on the television show “Inside the NBA” on TNT. This statement prompted the tourist company Visit Galveston to issue a reaction.
The back-and-forth didn’t end there … ’cause now, a slew of shots aimed at the Round Mound of Rebound have begun sprouting up all across the neighborhood — and they ain’t too pleasant.
Here are some instances of billboards that are located in the front doors:
“Hey Charles, come on down — water’s fine!” While it is subdued, the message is unmistakable (even when the water isn’t).
A statement like “Our water is cleaner than your golf swing” is beginning to take on a more personal tone.
“You’ve never turned down any of our great food.” At this point, we are only engaging in fat shaming with one other.

Despite the fact that the billboards include the words “Love, Galveston,” it is unknown who was the individual who really financed the campaign.
Tina Knowles, who was born and raised in Galveston, has subsequently expressed his regret for the disrespectful treatment she received from Chuck. However, Chuck’s apology was mostly motivated by the fear of receiving criticism from the Beyhive, which is Beyoncé’s most devoted audience.
It is possible that Galveston is hoping that Chuck will come to visit and alter his mind, but it does not seem that this will happen any time soon.
