Katy Perry is participating in a show of solidarity for her fiance.
The singer, who is 39 years old, was seen walking about the grounds of the Coachella music festival while wearing an enormous graphic t-shirt that featured Orlando Bloom as Legolas, the role that Bloom played in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
The shirt was worn by Perry as a minidress, and she paired it with black combat boots and a black cross-body bag as her other accessories. In an Instagram picture, the judge from American Idol shared the look with her followers as she reflected on her weekend spent at the music festival.
She captioned the image that she made on Wednesday, April 17, with the phrase, “I have been to Coachella longer than you have been alive.”
The vocalist of “Firework” also shared Bloom’s response to the t-shirt with the audience. During a video chat with her fiance, she displayed her outfit in a snapshot that she shared on Instagram Stories. The image was taken during the call. The 47-year-old actor seemed to be overjoyed by the respect that was paid to his much-loved role.
Throughout the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, which was directed by Peter Jackson, Bloom played the role of Legolas, a Sindar Elf who becomes a member of the Fellowship. The J.R.R. Tolkien literature served as the inspiration for the series, which was released between the years 2001 and 2003.
The Legolas t-shirt was also seen by fans on TikTok, where the creator, Harry Daniels, who is well-known for singing to celebs he meets, released a video of himself meeting Perry at the music festival. Fans were able to get a glance of the shirt.
The video, in which he performs Katy Perry’s song “International Smile” from her album Prism, was captioned with the following: “I got really nervous to sing for Katy and I blanked so the only song I could remember was this one deep cut from 2013.”
The connection to Lord of the Rings that Perry made in the video has garnered 5.6 million views and counting, and fans are really adoring it.
