When it comes to their relationship, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka reached a significant milestone on Monday.

The couple celebrated their first anniversary on April 1 by posting two photos on Instagram, each of which had a text that expressed their love for one another. This commemorated the twenty-year anniversary of their first date.

“Our first date was twenty years ago today,” Harris, who is fifty years old, wrote. “Man, how time has flown by… and yet… we’ve shared so many adventures, created so many remarkable memories.”

As the actor proceeded, he teased Burtka by saying, “If the next 7,300 days are like the ones that came before them, I will be absolutely thrilled.” Greetings on your anniversary, David! Most of the time, I love you without conditions attached to it. It’s XO.”

Aside from that, Burtka, who is 48 years old, made a joke about his partner in his article.

“Since we made the decision to embark on this incredible journey together, my dreams have manifested themselves,” the chef and cookbook author stated in her letter. “Today marks 20 years since our first date and I can’t imagine a better life.”

Then, Burtka said, “[Neil] I love you with every fiber of my being.” “I should be awarded an f—ing medal… then you, too, do it.”

Following a chance encounter on the street in 2004, Harris and Burtka began their romantic relationship as friends. This was the beginning of their relationship. As of that moment, Burtka was in a relationship with a partner; but, as he stated in an article that he had written for Out magazine in 2012, the relationship was already in bad shape. Shortly after that, it came to an end.

Several months after Harris made his sexual orientation known to the general world in an exclusive interview with People magazine, the couple made their relationship public in the year 2007. The couple had been dating for three years when they made their first appearance together on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards ceremonies in 2007.

In 2010, Harris and Burtka became parents to twins named Harper Grace and Gideon Scott. This marked the beginning of their family.

Several years after the decision that legalized homosexual marriage in New York in 2011, Harris and Burtka tied the knot in a private ceremony in Italy in 2014. The children were there and accompanied them on their wedding day.

During the month of September, Harris and Burtka celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary by posting ecstatic messages on Instagram. The love of my life and I tied the knot nine years ago… Love is as old as time itself!!,” Burtka said, and Harris responded by stating, “What a life.” What a joy it is to travel with you.

On the anniversary of their first date, which took place on April 1st, the couple has celebrated the event on social media each year.

With this guy, I went on my very first date, which was exactly 19 years ago today. Harris accompanied his post from the previous year with the phrase “single greatest decision of my life.” I am unable to get enough of you because you are the most incredible roller coaster ride that I have ever experienced. I want to express my gratitude to you for having faith in me, in yourself, and in all of us. You are the greatest parent, the best spouse, and the best friend I could ever ask for.

“The good times have outweighed the bad enormously,” Burtka said to reporters. I cannot express how thankful I am to be able to embark on this amazing adventure with you. As each of us develops as individuals, our connection becomes more robust. We appreciate you being who you are, putting in the effort, and helping us become the best that we can be. It is a privilege and a tremendous joy for me to be at your side.
