The approaching celebration of Dr. Jane Goodall’s 90th birthday will include the participation of a bunch of fortunate dogs. Congratulations!

In an interview with PEOPLE, the renowned British primatologist and anthropologist, whose birthday is April 3, expressed her excitement about an upcoming event that would be held in California the following week to celebrate her.

She adds, “I’m going to be greeted by a 90-dog salute,” and I believe her fully. “Can you even fathom it? Drones are going to take pictures of everything from above if they are successful.

On the other hand, further festivities for the well-known environmentalist are scheduled to take place during the full year of 2024. These celebrations will include a major party in New York as well as fundraising efforts in San Francisco and Seattle.

Goodall adds, “I’m celebrating for an entire year,” and she means it. There is a desire among all of the Jane Goodall Institute’s sites to host an event. Obviously, a significant portion of it is comprised of fundraising: 90th birthday, remember to invite folks… Auctions are being held in a number of different nations. Every single day of the year.”

Several celebrities, like Pierce Brosnan and his wife Keely Shaye, as well as Cher, who appears on the British television program Lorraine, have previously sent Goodall birthday greetings at an earlier date.

The GoldenEye actor posted the following in an Instagram photo that featured Shaye and Goodall on Wednesday: “Happy 90th pre-birthday to a genuine trailblazer, legend, and hero of the planet, Dr. Jane Goodall, who has changed the world for the better.” What an honor it is to have the opportunity to know you, to celebrate you, and to be able to call you a friend for just about thirty years.

Goodall said that other celebrities would save their birthday congratulations for when they celebrate in person when she was asked whether she had already gotten birthday messages from other celebs.

“People like Leo DiCaprio are coming to one birthday [event], and Dave Matthews is playing at another,” according to the actress. really though I’m not really making an effort, I just can’t keep up with all of these individuals in all of these different areas.

Even though she is getting closer to 90 years old, Goodall’s calendar is busier than it has ever been. As stated by the Jane Goodall Institute, the dedicated campaigner, who spends over 300 days each year traveling to different areas of the world to share her enthusiasm for chimpanzees and environmental concerns, “will continue to spread her message of hope through action” in a variety of locations across the globe this year.

“On my 90th birthday, everyone wants to come and see me,” Goodall says in an interview with PEOPLE. “Since the 12th of January, I have been traveling every single day without stopping. There have been five days that I have spent at home in England, while the other days have been spent traveling from one location to another.

Goodall, who is driving the Roots & Shoots program of the Institute to “empower young people to affect positive change in their communities,” says that she is still amazed when random people remember her despite the fact that she has been working for decades.

Her statement is, “I am unable to pass through an airport.” “I am very much unable to. It is impossible for me to board an aircraft without someone remarking that I possess the appearance of Jane Goodall. When they hear the words “I can’t believe I’m meeting you,” they start crying and ask for a selfie, a signature, or anything else. My response is, “Well, there are two Janes.” There is this one that is now speaking to you, and then there is the symbol that was developed by National Geographic, People Magazine, and Discovery Channel. Trying to stay up with the icon is something I have to do.
