The figure known as the “ghost with the most” is divulging some information on the Beetlejuice sequel.
During the promotion of his latest dramatic thriller, Knox Goes Away, Michael Keaton, who is 72 years old, discusses the production of Beetlejuice with PEOPLE. The long-awaited sequel to the comic film Beetlejuice, which was released in 1988, tells the story of a harsh and crass demon who is recruited by two ghosts (played by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis) in the hope of scaring away the new owners of the house that they formerly occupied.
Keaton, who shot the movie alongside returning actresses Catherine O’Hara and Winona Ryder, as well as cast newcomers Monica Bellucci and Jenna Ortega, adds, “It’s the most fun I’ve had on set in a long time.” Keaton describes the experience as “the most fun I’ve had on set in a long time.” Also making a comeback as a director was Tim Burton.
“On the one hand, you can think to yourself, ‘Well, of course it’s the lot of fun. It seems like a good time. He goes on to say, “As you are aware, things do not always operate in that manner.”
Keaton claims that he and Burton, who have collaborated on other films such as Batman and Batman Returns, have discussed the possibility of returning the picture at various points in time during the course of their careers.
“We said to ourselves, ‘You have to do this right. In any other case, you should not do it. Why don’t we simply go on with our lives and engage in other activities? As a result, I was reluctant and cautious, and I believe that he was probably just as hesitant and careful over all of these years,” he comments.
I told them, “Okay, let’s just go for it,” after we arrived at our destination. To that end, he continues, “Let’s just see if we can pull this off, if we can actually do it.”
