As a result of the show’s success on streaming services, the actress said to ET that the cast would be thrilled to return to Tree Hill.
According to Barbara Alyn Woods, a reunion of the popular television program One Tree Hill could not be entirely out of the question for both the show’s longtime and newcomers to the show.
She opened up to ET’s Hope Sloop about how her OTH “family” has been maintaining their relationship for years and why she would be “surprised” if no future projects came from the show’s recent streaming renaissance. The actress, who is 61 years old, was speaking with Sloop at an event hosted by the Television Critics Association on Wednesday.
“We all kept in touch — unlike other shows where they say ‘We’re family, we’re going to keep in touch,’ we actually have,” Woods was quoted as saying.
From 2003 to 2012, the television show One Tree Hill was broadcast on both The CW and the WB. Actors such as Sophia Bush, Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Hilarie Burton, and Bethany Joy Lenz were among the cast members working on the show. A total of more than 180 episodes were produced by the program during the course of its almost ten-year existence.
The closeness of the cast to this day, as well as the rebirth of the drama, might be to thank if and when the cast is brought back for a spinoff or a series, according to Woods. This is because it has been 12 years since the series conclusion and 21 years since the debut.
“I have no idea what’s going on, but if there wasn’t some sort of like spinoff or something, I would be so surprised,” the actor who played Chucky extemporized. “Because we’re all on board, we’re all friends, it would be the most fun show anybody has ever been on.”
Additionally, she said that the cast is feeling the pressure to deliver to both the old and new fans of the show and to return the love that they feel even today. This is because the program is continuing to acquire a new audience via online platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, and others.
“I am in a state of blessedness. “Not only has the show experienced this significant resurgence, but I actually believe that it is more popular now than it was when it first aired,” the actress said. “We just need to keep going, this thing is not going to die.”
Because it was also the set where her three kids, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Emily Alyn Lind, experienced some of the most significant events in their lives, the well-liked program has an even greater meaning for her. Because all three of her daughters have followed in her footsteps, the proud mother adds that even though it has been more than a decade after the conclusion of the show, it still brings a smile to her face to see her former co-stars checking in on her daughters and maintaining an open communication with the new generation of Hollywood cast members.
“Oh, they are familiar with my children because of their upbringing on set. The youngest of her children, Alyvia, who is presently appearing with mom on Peacock’s Chucky, was the subject of her statement. “I actually had Aly during One Tree Hill,” she stated.
The mother and daughter are able to represent a relationship that they are all too familiar with, this time on the small screen as Lexy Cross (Alyvia) and Michelle Cross (Woods). The horror series provides them with the chance to show this connection.
On April 10, Chucky will make his comeback to the streaming platform owned by NBC for the second portion of the third season.
The three of Woods’ children have taken their professions in stride and gone after significant television projects and movies, such as The Gifted and The Goldbergs for Natalie, and the Gossip Girl revival and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire for Emily. Woods expressed her utmost pride in all three of her daughters, saying that she could not be happier with their achievements.

“I’m just saying this — this is such a cliché thing to say, but I would love for all three of my girls to be on the show,” said the actress.
Woods has a fairly decent sense of what the mother of Nathan Scott would be getting herself into if she were really living today. She has a pretty good concept of where precisely her One Tree Hill character, Deb Scott, and in subsequent seasons, Deb Lee, would be as of today.
“I’m dating young guys, I’m not married, you know, I’m just getting in trouble – I’ve gotten the drinking under control,” she quipped, referring to Deb’s alcoholism storyline, which was first prompted by the manner in which her on-screen husband, Dan Scott (Paul Johansson), would harass their son, Nathan Scott (Lafferty). “That’s what I love about her so much, she just is like – you just never know what’s going to happen next.”
