In a hilarious and kind manner, the actress criticized her former co-star for attempting to withdraw from the film.

Jennifer Garner is making fun of her friend in a humorous manner. On Thursday, the actress, who is 51 years old, attended the event to celebrate Mark Ruffalo at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. However, she did not forget to make a joke about her co-star from the television show 13 Going on 30.

Laura Dern, who is presently fighting COVID-19, is Ruffalo’s co-star in the film We Don’t Live Here Anymore. Garner began her address by revealing that she wasn’t really supposed to be there, but rather that she was called in at the very last minute to stand in for her.

Garner was left with a single question after coming to this realization: “Why is it that I wasn’t asked to do this in the first place?”

“I kicked off the Mark Ruffalo rom-com era!” she exclaimed in reference to the film 13 Going on 30, which had its premiere in the year 2004. Furthermore, she said that “it was bookended 20 years later with [their 2022 Netflix film] The Adam Project.” [T]he Adam Project had been released in 2022.

She poked fun at the situation by saying, “I mean, it writes itself,” before addressing the audience and saying, “Honestly, I don’t know what you would have done without me.” To God be the glory, I arrived. It is imperative that I be there in order to pay tribute to and shed light on the romantic comedy Ruffalo.

“How lucky are we to be in a movie that kids are dressing up for as Halloween, that still means something to people?” Garner said in awe about the well-liked romantic comedy that she and Ruffalo had created together.

“I wonder if my colleagues — Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth [Paltrow], Keira Knightley — I wonder if they would agree that Mark owes this rom-com success to the scruffy hair, the untucked cute button down, both of which became the norm for cute guys everywhere for the next 20 years,” she commented, mentioning a few of Ruffalo’s other making light of them. “I wonder if these esteemed ladies enjoyed Mark’s anxiety as much as I did.”

“I wonder if he tried to drop out of their films like he did out of ours after the first rehearsal of the ‘Thriller’ dance, where Mark went from kind of shocked that we actually had to do this, to antsy, to a deathly quiet, to, ‘Bro, this is not for me,'” Garner said, as Ruffalo laughed while standing next to her

As she concluded her remarks, Garner made the following observation: “There is a connection between the well-liked character Matty in 13 Going on 30 and Duncan in Poor Things.” A common thread of anxiousness, sure; of having a clear purpose; of having a knowledge of the plot; of standing up for your characters; of being a person of character; of showing up for your co-stars; of taking your family with you into every minute of every scene; and of showing up with joy.

“Mark, to work with you is to love you,” your boss said. In closing, she made a witticism by saying, “I don’t care what anyone says.” “You make it possible for your coworkers, the audience, and the whole world to have a complete understanding of who you are… A hearty congratulations, Mark. You have our love.
