The actress wants her followers to understand that they are “enough” in their current state that they are in.
To her devoted followers, Valerie Bertinelli is conveying a profound message about the importance of self-love and acceptance of one’s body.

The actress courageously spoke up about her personal challenges with body image and social norms in a post that she made on Instagram on Thursday. The message was followed with a flashback picture from 2014, which showed her sitting in a pool while wearing a purple bikini and carrying herself with confidence.

This body weighs 150 pounds and has a frame that is 5 feet 4 inches tall. I no longer attempt to weigh myself since, according to the criteria that I am not familiar with, this constitutes being overweight. In her Instagram post, Bertinelli added, “It’s stupid, and I believed them for a much longer period of time than I should have.”

In a courageous act of defiance against traditional beauty standards, the actress accepted her body in its natural state. She underlined the need of recognizing one’s value beyond one’s physical looks, stressing attributes such as intelligence, humor, and compassion as examples of such qualities.

“I have now come to the realization that I am a lady who is courteous, witty, thoughtful, and kind. Therefore, it is imperative that you keep in mind that the size of your body or the amount of weight you carry should never be allowed to overshadow who you are and what your character is. It is sufficient to have you. You are perfect in every aspect. F**k ’em 💜,” Bertinelli continued, finishing her message with a proclamation of self-acceptance after she ended her message.

Her article soon attracted the attention and appreciation of her followers, with many of them congratulating Bertinelli for her courage in speaking out on a subject that was so very personal to her.

Over the course of February of last year, the actress celebrated yet another moment of body confidence with her followers. The actress of Hot in Cleveland went on TikTok to explain that she was wearing a pair of trousers that she had never worn before because of the sound they produced when her legs rubbed together. She said that she had never worn these pants before.

It was someone from her past who used to remark on her thighs rubbing together, and they would tell her that she was “too lazy to do anything about it [so] they wouldn’t rub together.” She informed her followers that putting on the jeans had “activated a small hidden bruise,” due of this. On top of that, the actress, who is 63 years old, said that this individual “mercilessly mocked” her looks.

Bertinelli stated that she had intended to put the trousers “away forever,” and that she had even “changed the way” she walked when she did wear them. She also admitted that she had meant to put them away forever.

Bertinelli responded, “That’s in the past,” when asked about how she used to feel while she was wearing the outfit. “I am very thankful that the work that I am doing, which is aimed at healing, is producing results. So, it’s giving me a chuckle right now… Because of this, I am now able to put them on and listen to that sound; it is the sound of liberation.

In response to any critics who could see her TikTok post and believe that she ought to “let go of it and move on,” Bertinelli said, “This is what we mean when we say that we are moving on.” Our term for this is “healing.” The emotional, verbal, and mental abuse that you experience might leave you with hidden injuries that other people are unable to see, but we have to cope with them on a daily basis.
