The Kids Baking Championship will not be making Valerie Bertinelli’s comeback any time soon.

She disclosed that she heard on Friday that she is “not going to be asked back to be on Kids Baking Championship” in the future in a video that she shared on her Instagram story on Saturday. The veteran presenter and actor for the Food Network, who is 63 years old, divulged this information.

“It really hurt my feelings,” Bertinelli, who was obviously disturbed many times during the tape, stated. “It really hurt my feelings.” “It really sucks.”

Bertinelli, who had been presenting the Food Network program with Duff Goldman since the first episode aired in 2015, said that she was terminated due to budget constraints as the reason for her dismissal.

The request for comment that was made by PEOPLE was not immediately met with a response from representatives of Food Network.

Bertinelli continued by stating that she had filmed the episodes for the next season 12 of the program, which is presently being shown, during the summer of 2022. The year when she divorced Tom Vitale was the year that she referred to as “my apex year of hell.” She spent that year in her life.

According to the star of Hot in Cleveland, she was acting as if everything was normal while, in reality, she was emotionally disintegrating behind closed doors. Bertinelli said, “Without sounding like a drama queen, the show saved my life,” and she offered this information.

She went on to say that one of the things that helped her get through the challenging moments in her personal life was working and being productive while also spreading compassion. She continued by saying, “It was like a floatation device,” referring to the performance.

“So it really hurts that I won’t be able to go back and see everybody and say, ‘Hey, I made it through,'” she said further.

In addition, Bertinelli expressed her regret that she is unable to convey to all of the individuals that are employed on the program the significance that they have for her, including Goldman, the crew, and the young bakers.

In order to address the next competitors of the Kids Baking Championship, she took a time to speak.

There is a purpose behind your presence. “At this very moment, you are among the most talented bakers in the United States,” she informed them. It is not because you are not a good baker; rather, it is because you just had a terrible day. Please keep this in mind at all times, especially if you do not advance to the following round. Constantly and unwaveringly have faith in oneself. Do it for me, if you please. Also, continue to bake. I’ll miss you all very much.
