In the midst of a limelight career that began with a successful modeling stint, Barbara Bach discovered fame and romance during the classic Hollywood period. Bach has been active in the film business since 1965, and his contributions to the extraordinary history of the film industry have lasted over sixty years. It was also at the height of her popularity that she met the man who would become the love of her life, Ringo Starr, who was also the famous drummer for The Beatles.

In April of 2021, Ringo Starr and Bach celebrated their forty-year marriage anniversary. Starr used to social media to express his joy at the occasion. In the years leading up to their long-lasting marriage, the pair had a great deal of success in their own way. As Bach progressed through her career in the entertainment industry, she went from being a highly acclaimed model to being an accomplished actor.

Following her graduation from high school in 1964, Bach moved to New York City in order to pursue a career as a modelling professional. Following her signing with the Eileen Ford Agency, the young beauty quickly established herself as one of the most sought-after models of the 1960s. Her appearances on the cover of prestigious publications such as Vogue USA, Elle, and Seventeen were among her most notable. A number of renowned photographers, including as Richard Avedon, were also responsible for photographing Bach. After meeting her first husband, Augusto Gregorini, an Italian businessman, her career would proceed to take a more fascinating turn one year later. Augusto Gregorini was her first spouse.

It was in Rome in 1966 that the professional model first saw Gregorini. At the time, she was in Rome for the purpose of modeling certain textiles. Once upon a time, Bach recalled that they had a chance encounter on an aircraft. In the course of their chat, Gregorini was successful in persuading her to relocate to Italy in order to achieve more success in her professional professional life. In the future, when Bach was 19 years old, she told her parents about her plan to go to Europe. Despite the fact that “they were not terribly thrilled by the idea,” Bach’s parents eventually became acclimated to her new existence.

Following a period of time, the leading model tied the knot with Gregorini, who was eleven years her senior. During her time in Italy, she maintained her modeling profession and had considerable success. She was featured on the cover of several prestigious Italian publications, including Amica, Gioia Italy, and Bella, on numerous occasions. In the midst of her popularity as a model, she was approached by a stranger on the streets of Italy and asked if she would be interested in appearing on television. This was the beginning of her acting career.

In 1967, Bach made her debut as an actress in a television program that was named “Cordialmente.” Nevertheless, she first gained notoriety for her acting abilities when she was cast in the miniseries version of Homer’s epic poem “The Odyssey,” which was directed by Franco Rossi at the Italian level. Due to the fact that the series was so popular in Europe, Bach’s performance in the series, in which she portrayed the supporting character of Princess Naucisca, was well received.

Since then, she has established herself as a prominent figure in the film industry, having appeared in a number of films, including “Il Mio Padre Monsignore,” “La tarantula del vetro,” and “Paolo di Caulo,” amongst others. During the year 1977, she was selected to play the role of Anya Amasova, a KGB spy who was also the Bond girl love interest of Roger Moore’s James Bond in the film “The Spy Who Loved Me.” It would turn out to be one of the most noteworthy parts that she ever played.

The marriage between Bach and Geogorini had come to an end during this time period. It was in 1975 that the couple, who had two children together, decided to part ways, and she relocated back to the United States. She was cast opposite Ringo Starr in the comedic slapstick film “Caveman” in the year 1980 with the role of Caveman. The duo portrayed love interests, and by the time the shooting was over, this developed into a real-life relationship between them.

A number of years before to their meeting on the set of Caveman, the Beatles star and Bach came dangerously close to having a meeting. She had accompanied her sister, Marjorie, to the legendary Shea Stadium event that the Beatles had performed at.

Her sister was the only person she accompanied to the Beatles concert, since she was not a fan of the band at the time, she said to People in 2017. As luck would have it, fifteen years later, she and Ringo Starr were romantically involved with one another. Both the A-listers and their significant others had significant highs and lows over the first year of their relationship.

In the months that followed the beginning of their relationship, Ringo Starr and Bach were engaged in a potentially fatal accident. During the course of the encounter, Starr shared with People that they grew more intentional about each other overall. He communicated that:

A decision was made that we would not spend any time apart. The longest respite that has been taken up to this point was five days, and that was an excessive amount of time. I would want to spend each and every moment with Barbara.

The next year, in April 1981, Bach and the person she had been in love with for her whole life became husband and wife, and they joined their mixed family. Ringo, like her, has three children from a previous marriage, and he is also a father. It was many months after the death of Starr’s friend and fellow band member John Lennon that they finally tied the knot. As a pair, Starr and Bach continued to develop, as seen by their participation in rehabilitation and the establishment of charity organizations.

The Lotus Foundation was established in 1998 by the famous couple with the purpose of developing social welfare programs for those who are struggling with challenges related to their physical and mental health. Starr and Bach continue to bask in love despite all that has happened. In an interview with People magazine, the rock star couple demonstrated that their relationship had stood the test of time by speaking about their 35th wedding anniversary in 2015.

Starr published a touching tribute in 2021, on the couple’s fortieth wedding anniversary. In the post that he made on Instagram, the singer included a vintage photograph that was taken during the wedding that he and Bach had in 1981, which had Paul McCartney and George Harrison as guests.
