Anderson Cooper was unable to contain his laughter during the CNN New Year’s Eve special that aired on Sunday night. This was all due to John Mayer’s antics that took place at a cat bar in Tokyo.
The artist, who is 46 years old, made a short cameo during Cooper’s yearly presentation with his buddy Andy Cohen. He did so by video-calling in from a Japanese business that was filled with cats.
Cooper broke out into an uncontrolled fit of laughing as soon as Mayer’s camera feed began to play, which showed him surrounded by cats.
Cohen, who is 55 years old, said, “John, this does not appear to be sanitary.” Mayer answered by saying, “You know what, I believe it passes all health codes, I think it’s just fine.”
After that, Cooper began to lose his cool when Mayer stated that he was celebrating the year 2024 at Cats in the Box in Tokyo, where he was almost halfway through the first month of the year.
Cohen inquired more about Mayer’s experience at the bar and urged him to clarify further. It was him who inquired, “Can you tell me about this bar?” As you sit in the pub, you notice that there are cats all about you. Licking each other is what they are doing.
“There are cats,” Mayer stated in a mocking manner. You can come here, have a drink or two, and chat to cats. This is the kind of place you can go. It is a bar for cats. To put it another way, I’m not sure how much more specific I can be about the purpose of this location.
However, Cooper’s laughter was not just due to Mayer’s delivery or the crazy environment in which he was being performed. Cohen provided an explanation for his bout of laughing after he had said that his co-host had “gone” and “off with the fairies” during the course of his chuckle.
“Just the shot of the cat’s ass in your face is making him delirious,” according to Cohen.
The next portion of the show consisted of Mayer introducing his new SiriusXM channel, the presenting team attempting to guess the names of one of the cats, and Mayer giving goodies to the respective animals.
Cohen lauded Cooper in another part of the live show, describing him as “such a great” and “attentive” parent during the performance.
Cooper and his ex-girlfriend Benjamin Maisani are the parents of his two kids, Wyatt Morgan, who is three years old, and Sebastian Luke, who is one year old. The father of Benjamin Allen, who is four years old, and Lucy Eve, who is one, Cohen is also a father.
Watching you interact with the children is just awe-inspiring. Cohen complimented Cooper on his presentation, saying, “You are so present, it’s really great.” Cooper showed his gratitude for the comment.
