In the year 2023, Donny Osmond, who had been working in the business for more than six decades, stated his willingness to break the record that had been set by the great singer Elvis Presley.
During an interview that took place in March 2023 with The Standard, Donny said how performing was his “drug of choice” due to the fact that he enjoys taking others “on a journey.”
“I kind of see the end of the tunnel, it’s not very close because I have a lot of things I still want to do, but one of which I think I have to get to is 68 albums because then I’ll beat Elvis,” he told reporters at the time.
The performer struggled with a number of health issues during his career, despite the fact that he was adamant about continuing to play despite these challenges.
His vertebrae had moved as a result of injuries that were induced by his dancing, according to the findings of the physicians in 2019.
Donny said the following in an interview with the Daily Mirror in the year 2021: “I couldn’t feel my arms, and then suddenly my legs as well… It was a secret that I kept from everyone what was going on with me……Just by continuing to dance, I was able to complete the concert.

He had a conversation with Trisha Paytas on her podcast titled “Just Trish” earlier that month, during which he explored the possibility of rejoining with his brothers for a performance, and it seemed as if this would no longer be possible.

Merrill Osmond, one of Donny’s closest siblings, delivered a performance at his very last concert ever, which took place in April 2022, when he was 68 years old. Donny was correct in his statement about his brothers’ retirement.
During that time period, Donny posted a picture of himself and his cherished brother on several social media platforms. Over the course of the photograph, he could be seen giving Merrill a bear hug from behind as he was overcome with emotion and sang his heart out.
In the caption, he wrote the below:
This was a night that I will never, ever forget. It was my brother Merrill’s last performance in the United States, and I went to see him. While I was watching him, I became a fan myself, and I sung along with all of the other fans who were packed into the Westgate theater, where we had played together in the 1970s.
In a subsequent post, he said that Merrill had requested that he ascend the stage while he was performing his last song; but, he couldn’t resist the need to give his brother a bear embrace as a way of saying goodbye to his lengthy career in the music business dating back many decades.
It is true that all of us contributed to the formation of The Osmonds; nonetheless, Merrill’s voice was the one that produced the sound. This was a very remarkable occasion. You are quite kind, my brother,” he said.
