The country singer Gabby Barrett has said that she has declined duets with male artists in order to avoid putting her marriage to her husband, Cade Foehner, in a “unsafe” position.
As part of her appearance on the Unexpected with Hannah Love podcast, the singer of “I Hope,” who is 23 years old, discussed her relationship with Foehner, who is 27 years old, and revealed that she has accepted some limitations in regard to the commitments that come with her work.
“There have been significant possibilities for me to perform a duet or be a part of a song that have come my way, and there is also something that my husband and I have been working on together… Barrett told Love, who is married to Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay, that he regards him with a great deal of respect and that he pays attention to what he has to say. “I think he deserves that,” Barrett said.
The celebrity proceeded by saying, “There have been songs that have been inappropriate to sing wording-wise, such as these love songs that are really intimate wording-wise.” Following the acceptance of a song, there are duties that come along with it. For example, you can be required to perform the song together on award programs, and you might also be required to do interviews together. To what extent does it manifest itself on the stage? In the event that I am singing with another male, what does that dynamic look like? Does it have the potential to make my spouse feel uneasy? Undoubtedly, ”

In the present moment, Foehner is playing guitar alongside Barrett throughout each and every one of her live concerts. During the sixteenth season of American Idol in 2018, the couple first became acquainted with one another. They went on to be married in October 2019, after a seven-month engagement.
Barrett is presently expecting their third child, a girl, who will join their elder sister Baylah May, who is around two and a half years old, and their brother Augustine Boone, who is fourteen months old.
On the podcast, she said, “I am not going to put my marriage in jeopardy in order to perform a duet with somebody because I have such a great deal of respect and love for him.” “I care about this a great deal more, and I pray, hope, and know that God will bless my efforts in trying to keep my marriage straight and not just for a duet or whatever it is,” she said. “He will certainly bless my efforts.”
The singer said that she and Foehner had sought therapy, and that during those sessions, they were informed that they are both “strong-willed people.” The singer feels that this trait helps her to stay steadfast in her beliefs and that it has helped her to remain determined.
“I have tons of people say that say to me, or have texted me, or have commented about me and said, ‘She’s ruining her career by talking about these things, and by X, Y and Z,” according to Barrett. “Because I value a marriage that is based on God more than anything else that the world has to offer…”
Barrett’s first studio album, named Goldmine, was published in the year 2020, and she is planning to release her second album, titled Chapter & Verse, in the month of February.
In an interview with People magazine in September, she revealed that she was looking forward to the arrival of her child, stating that she was thrilled to have “another girl and another girl personality in the house.”
“My first child was a girl, my second child was a boy, and my third child will remain a female. She remarked, “I love girls, and I love being a mother to my first child.” “So lots of personalities in the house.”
In addition, Barrett shared with PEOPLE in 2021 that Foehner was an outstanding caretaker when she was carrying Baylah during her pregnancy.
Simply said, he has been quite kind. During each and every night, he massages my feet. She remarked that he had been very considerate overall. Pregnancy may also cause mood swings and all of those other weird things that are caused by the hormones that are present throughout pregnancy. He has just shown a great deal of patience and understanding over the matter.
