The most recent golf event that Tiger Woods is competing in is going to be a family affair.
On Saturday, the sportsman, who is 47 years old and is taking part in the Pro-Am event of the PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club alongside his son Charlie, had a very special person caddying for him for the very first time. That person was his daughter, Sam.
It was possible to observe the 16-year-old girl standing next to her father and having a conversation with him as she was cleaning one of her father’s clubs in a video that was published simultaneously on the Instagram sites of the PGA Tour and the PNC Championship.
Sam, who Tiger shares with his ex-girlfriend Elin Nordegren, together with Charlie, 14, was seen later monitoring the action as her father hit a practice shot. She was wearing an official blouse from the tournament that had the name “Woods” printed on the back of the top.
The caption of the post said, “Today, Sam Woods is caddying for her father for the very first time with a smile on her face.”
Tiger and Charlie are competing against golfer Justin Thomas and his father, Mike, for the fourth year in a row at the weekend tournament, which brings together members of the same family.
Despite the fact that this was Sam’s first time formally caddying for Tiger, she and Charlie have both been delightfully serving as child caddies in the past. Additionally, Sam’s father has been encouraging her to participate in the sport from a young age.
In 2007, only a few weeks after the birth of his daughter Sam, Tiger said that he had already given his daughter a golf club to play with. “She was unable to contain her emotions. On the other hand, it was found,” he said at the time.
In spite of the fact that Tiger disclosed in an interview with Golf Digest in 2018 that both of his children were “keen into soccer,” Sam was front and center when it came to honoring her father at his World Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Florida in March 2022. Sam and Charlie have shown their support for their father at a number of golf tournaments over the years.
“We didn’t know if you’d come home with two legs or not,” she remarked during a speech at the occasion, referring to the vehicle accident that occurred in 2021 and resulted in her father being hospitalized.

“Not only are you on the verge of being inducted into the Hall of Fame, but you are also standing here on your own two feet. She went on to say, “This is the reason why you deserve this.” “You’re a fighter, you’ve defied the odds every time.”
While all is going on, Tiger and his kid have also been spending time together this week. Not only did the father and son team compete together in the competition that took place on Saturday, but they also spent time together at a practice session that took place the day before.
On Friday, the official PGA Tour account on X (which was then known as Twitter) uploaded a video that showed the great golfer watching his kid while they were practicing.
A warm-up shot from his son, which the golfing star was pleased with, prompted him to make the decision that it was time to bring the preparations for the tournament to a conclusion.
“Just like that, we’re going to reach our conclusion. In the footage, he can be heard recording himself stating, “That was f—ing nasty.”
