When it comes to her divorce from her ex-boyfriend Jeezy, Jeannie Mai Jenkins is speaking up.

During her appearance as a guest on the episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show that aired on Monday, the former co-host of The Real said that she is “day by day” coping with the breakup of her relationship with the rapper, who went through with the divorce process in September.

“In spite of the fact that this year I encountered the most shattered version of myself. On the sofa, Mai Jenkins, who is 44 years old, shared with presenter Jennifer Hudson that she had also encountered the most powerful version of herself.

On the subject of her divorce from Jeezy, who is 46 years old, she stated, “It was kind of difficult, so yeah, it’s what I’m dealing with day by day, you know?” She went on to say, “I think I’m doing better now.”

In addition, the media personality said that she went through the process of filing for divorce “at the same time as the rest of the world” after discovering that she had married Jeezy in March of 2021.

“When I found out… that my marriage was ultimately going to end in divorce, I was completely devastated,” Mai Jenkins said.

Monday’s request for comment from PEOPLE was not immediately met with a response from a representative for Jeezy.

Therefore, today is all about putting the parts back together. “It’s about discovering me and being a mother to the best blessing in my life, my little girl,” Mai Jenkins stated on the program, referring to her daughter Monaco, whom she and Jeezy welcomed into the world in January of 2022.

In the course of her talk with Hudson, who is 42 years old, she went on to characterize Monaco as her “everything.” At one point, Mai Jenkins said, “She is just my entire world.” This little child has been the greatest gift of my life since it has allowed me to relive my past and to re-parent myself through those experiences.

In addition, Mai Jenkins shared with her daughter her plans for the next Christmas season, which include taking her to San Jose, California, where she was born and originally raised.

“Money is going to come home to the Bay area for Christmas with me for the very first time this year,” the mother of one stated on the program. “This year is going to be unique.” “The thing that I love about the Bay is that my friends and the mood in the Bay have this earthy grit to them. The music sounds better, and the cuisine tastes better. As a result, Monaco is going to have the opportunity to experience all of the many cultures that San Jose offers for its melting point.

During the visit, Mai Jenkins claims that her daughter will also have the opportunity to see the house where she spent her youth.

“I would want Monaco to have a sense of where I came from and to comprehend such things as the fact that my parents arrived to this country from Vietnam and settled right here in the Bay. Hudson was informed by her that “there is a great deal of life that resulted from that.” There were fifteen individuals residing in a house that had three bedrooms. In addition to that, she is going to be in that house, and she is going to see the bedroom that I spent my childhood in… as well as the detailed account of how our family came to be together.

Additionally, Mai Jenkins said that Monaco would be spending time with her father, Jeezy, “so that she is able to really experience both sides of our family.”

PEOPLE received court records that were filed in Fulton County, Georgia, on November 30. These filings explain Mai Jenkins’ allegations that Jeezy was unfaithful to her throughout their marriage. Mai Jenkins’ presence on the program comes after she made these allegations. As a result of the claim, she is attempting to have the conditions of the prenuptial agreement that she agreed into with the artist in 2021 enforced.

The allegations that she made were refuted by a representative of Jeezy, who said to People at the time that “any claim of infidelity on Mr. Jenkins’s behalf are 100% false and he has no further statements from him at this time.”

At the end of September, following two years of marriage, the rapper filed a petition for divorce.

During the month of October, Jeezy released a statement in which he expressed his feelings, saying, “The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart.” I will always love and respect Jeannie, and the time that we spent together will always have a special place in my heart, despite the fact that this has happened.
