After his team’s devastating defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs received some encouraging words from his wife Brittany.
The NFL star, who is 28 years old, showed clear signs of disappointment after the Chiefs’ 21-17 loss, and during a postgame interview, Patrick remarked that the Chiefs “just have to get better in the second half” since they continue to struggle after halftime.
In a heartfelt tribute that she posted on Tuesday after the tragedy, Brittany, who is 28 years old, demonstrated that her support for Patrick never wavers.
The mother of two commented in an Instagram Story, with a snapshot of her and Patrick’s customary pregame sideline kiss during the Monday Night Football game, “My boo thing, I love you.” The photo was taken during the Monday Night Football game.
She continued by saying, “I am always proud of you,” as she added her comment to the article.
Brittany shared a second picture on her Instagram account depicting the tender hug she and Patrick had moments before the game began at Arrowhead Stadium.
The proprietor of the KC Current appeared at the game in a highly athletic and extremely pro-Chiefs costume, which included white trousers with red patches and badges with her husband’s number, a tight white sweater top, and a puffy white jacket. The pants also had her husband’s number. She broke up the virtually all-white outfit with a splash of color by carrying a Chanel flapbag in a mustard hue.
Although Taylor Swift’s connection with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has lately brought additional attention to Brittany’s game-day attendance, she can often be seen in the stands cheering on Patrick.
Brittany and Swift seem to have developed a close friendship since Swift started dating Kelce in September.
At the beginning of this month, Brittany was seen spending time with Swift on a night out with their girlfriends.
Swift hosted a watching party at her residence in New York City on November 5, while the Chiefs were playing the Dolphins in Germany. Invited guests included spouses and girlfriends of team members. The group rejoiced in Manhattan after the Chiefs’ triumph, which was transported back to Kansas City.
Brittany acts as an owner for the Kansas City women’s soccer club, the Current, when she is not hanging out with her A-list girl group or spending time with Patrick, their daughter Sterling Skye, who is 2 years old, and son Bronze, who is 11 months old.
A forward for the KC Current named Michelle Cooper recently told PEOPLE that Brittany is “an awesome” and “very involved” owner for the team. Michelle described Brittany as “very involved.”
“She makes frequent visits,” Cooper went on to say. “She stops over every once in a while to say hello to the girls, and she’s great. I’ve had a few conversations with her over the years. Although we haven’t spent much time together so far, she seems like a genuinely kind person.
Mahomes, along with Chris and Angie Long, was one of the original founders of the team. In January, Patrick joined the group as an investor in the company.
In July, the Current made public their intention to launch a brand new facility that would cost a total of 120 million dollars. Opening in the spring of 2024, this venue will make history as the first one ever constructed with the exclusive intention of housing a women’s professional sports team.
