Evan Ellingson, who passed away at the age of 35, was perhaps most recognized for his role in the film My Sister’s Keeper, which was released in 2009.

On Sunday, November 5, at 11:31 a.m., the coroners division of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department discovered Ellingson’s body in a bedroom at his house in Fontana, California. Ellingson had been found passed on the previous day.

It has not been discovered what caused his passing away. On Monday morning, there will be an autopsy performed.

According to TMZ, which was the first site to break the news, Ellingson’s father informed the publication that the actor battled addiction and passed away in a sober living facility.

One of the most noteworthy parts that Ellingson has played was as Jesse in the 2009 cancer drama My Sister’s Keeper. The film also starred Cameron Diaz, Alec Baldwin, Abigail Breslin, and Jason Patric, all of whom appeared with Ellingson.

According to his resume, his “unmistakable charisma and talent” led to him being “asked to do a trilogy of short films playing a character that was written specifically for him,” which ultimately led to him landing additional jobs in the future.

When Ellingson was promoting the television show CSI: Miami in 2009, he gave an interview to The Philippine Star in which he said, “I never had the same experience [growing up] with my pals. Never did I get to spend more time with them. Having said that, I had a really fantastic upbringing. I was occupied with the activities that bring me the most joy.”

He also said, “I had no regrets because I found my passion for acting early on.”
