On the television show Friends, Maggie Wheeler played the role of Janice, who was an on-and-off girlfriend for Chandler Bing.

Maggie Wheeler is trying to find some solace for herself in the wake of the tragic loss of Matthew Perry by reflecting on the happy times she had with him.

The actress, known for her role as Chandler Bing’s on-and-off love Janice during the course of Friends, went to Instagram to pay tribute to her longtime co-star, who passed away suddenly on Saturday. Perry, whose depiction of Bing helped solidify his place in the annals of pop cultural history, passed away at the age of 54.

Wheeler uploaded a picture of them together with the phrase “what a loss,” expressing his sadness. “Matthew Perry, you will be sorely missed by everyone. The happiness that you offered to so many people throughout your much too brief lifespan will not be forgotten. I count each and every one of the creative moments that we had as a true blessing.

A year ago, the actress congratulated Perry on the publication of his insightful book, Friends, Lovers, and the Big, Terrible Thing, by taking to social media.

She also saw Perry and the rest of the cast once again at Max’s 2021 Friends: The Reunion, when she shared how Perry’s comic skills served as the inspiration for the trademark laugh of her character’s character. “Matthew Perry is so hilarious, and the instant I laid eyes on him and he opened his mouth, I thought, ‘Oh my god, I’m going to lose it.'” I’m about to burst out laughing. I’m not going to be able to go through even one scene with this person, therefore this character needs a good laugh.'”

Other performers who featured on the program with him have spoken out, including Kathleen Turner. His principal castmates have not yet broken their silence on his tragic demise. Other artists who were on the show alongside him include.

“I was proud to play his ‘Dad,'” she added in a statement to Entertainment Tonight (ET).

In a statement sent to Entertainment Tonight, Friends co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane as well as executive producer Kevin Bright remarked on the passing of Perry.

“The news of the demise of our dear friend Matthew has left us in utter disbelief and unfathomable grief. It is still beyond our comprehension. According to the statement, “all that we can say is that we count ourselves extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to know and spend time with him.” “He was a really gifted individual. It’s a cliché to say that an actor makes a character their own, but in the case of Matthew, there are no words that more accurately describe his performance. There was never anybody else for us to consider as Chandler Bing after the day we first heard him perform in that role. We shall never forget the happiness, the brightness, and the mind-boggling intellect that he gave to each and every moment, not just in his work but also in his life. He was consistently the most hilarious guy in the room. In addition to this, he had the kindest and most kind heart of anybody I have ever met.
