When Lily, then only two years old, received the news that she had cancer, her parents’ grief was quite understandable. When Holly Christen, a friend of the family, learned of Lily’s situation, her mind immediately went to the many ways in which she might provide a hand.

Holly, a mother of three who is 31 years old and a former oncology nurse, was aware of the sorrow that chemotherapy-related hair loss can create for a patient since she had seen it herself. Consequently, while cradling a crochet hook in her hand, she embarked on the process of creating a charming and whimsical wig for Lily in the likeness of a Disney princess.

“I knew she would be going through a horrible period, and that no one would be able to take away her sorrow. I also understood that she would be going through this alone. Holly said, “I figured that the yarn wig might be able to help bring a little bit of magic and fun to a time in her life that was difficult.”

The two-year-old girl’s reaction to the stunning Rapunzel wig that Holly created was very motivational!

Because Holly was so motivated, she made the decision to go on. She created a number of wigs for Lily before going on to build even more remarkable items for other children who were ill.

Both encouraging people to donate their time and providing young cancer patients with lovable and cuddly wigs made of yarn were the motivations for the creation of the Magic Yarn Project, which is funded by contributions.

Free wigs are being sent to disadvantaged youngsters all across the globe who are in need of assistance.

Holly and her community of crocheted volunteers have even begun hosting workshops to educate parents and others of local communities how to construct the wigs on their own.

The enchantment Yarn Project is living up to its pledge to bring light and enchantment to the children it assists by providing more than a hundred wigs with a princess theme, which are warming the heads and hearts of young children who are battling cancer.
