The lady has participated in a wedding with the same guy for the twenty-fourth time, and she has no intention of stopping. The nurse has a unique motive for wanting to remarry her husband 26 more times, and she believes that only the most romantic individuals would understand why this is important to her.
Leah Trager from California is well-known for being the first person to marry the same guy 24 times. This fact often comes as a surprise to those who learn that a lady has married 10 different men. In the year 1996, Leah’s friends were the ones who introduced her to George Humphrey, who would later become her husband.
They chose to be married after dating for barely six months before making the commitment. According to Comic Sands, they had intended to be married in front of their family and friends in their homeland of San Diego, California, but they were unable to wait so long.
After that, the pair made plans for a romantic vacation and traveled to Carson City, Nevada, where, on July 12, 1997, they tied the knot inside of a courtroom.
Leah explains, “We couldn’t wait to get married, and running away seemed like a wild and romantic idea, so we decided to get married in Nevada.”
After returning to California, the newlyweds were unable to find the appropriate moment to reveal to their friends and family that they had eloped and tied the knot, so they decided to start making arrangements for a second wedding. They remarried on July 11, 1998, precisely one year after their first wedding, this time in front of seventy people in the garden of the bride’s sister’s home in the town where the bride was from.
Following the couple’s second wedding, an even crazier notion occurred to them.
After we got both of our marriage licenses in hand, we said to each other, “Well, at least we have two certificates from two different states.”The lady suggests that we get one item from each of the fifty states.
Since then, they have remarried each year on their wedding anniversary in a new state, which requires them to travel many thousands of miles and spend around fifty thousand dollars, which is equivalent to three and a half million rubles.
Even though George and I have been married for a very long time, we try not to forget about the importance of marriage and relationships. On the other hand, we don’t go a year without thinking about them. When we speak our vows, we take into consideration the connections we have and where we are in life. To commemorate the passing of another year after our wedding, we decided to tie the knot once again.
Whenever a lady dons a brand-new dress. At a wedding in North Dakota, she tried on her mother’s wedding dress, and at a wedding in California, she tried on her grandmother’s wedding dress. She went shopping for other outfits before the celebration, but she never spent more than $200 on any of them together.
Leah believes that we spent around $50,000 overall on the weddings, assuming the costs of travel and hotel are taken into account. The weddings themselves were not extremely costly.
After Leah and George celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary in 2015, they made the decision to include themes into future ceremonies. One of the events that stood out the most was a celebration that took place in Memphis, Tennessee, Elvis Presley’s birthplace and the city in which he was raised.
In the year 2020, the town of Newton, Iowa, adopted a style that was reminiscent of the 1970s. Leah donned a dress in the manner of a prom, whilst George wore a blue suit. They prepare by studying the history and culture of a location before going there so that they may include aspects of that knowledge into their oath and style.
We have enjoyed ourselves at a variety of weddings for a variety of reasons. Because it took place in our hometown of San Diego, our second wedding there was the most important and memorable one because it brought together all of our loved ones. The wedding that took place in Pennsylvania came in at number two. According to Leah, “there are no rules in this state, and you can literally marry yourself if you want to, which we thought was great.”
After 24 marriages, Leah and George have said “I do” in some unusual locations, such as a graveyard in Georgia and a beach in Florida. They also said “I do” on a glacier in Alaska and in a national forest in Wisconsin, where a young goat carried their rings as they exchanged vows. It’s a shame they won’t be married in Australia, where a kangaroo might have performed the ceremony just as well.
