Susan Lucci is perhaps one of the most well-known actors working on daytime television today. During the four decades that “All My Children” was on the air, she played the role of Erica Kane. Many people see Lucci and her role as an icon in the annals of the history of television. Publications such as The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and even TV Guide have referred to her as the “leading lady” of daytime television and listed her as the “highest-paid actor on daytime television.”
She has already had 21 nominations for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Erica Kane in “All My Children.” However, she has only managed to win the award once, and that was after her 19th nomination.
In the past, she has also appeared in various television programs, including appearing in many episodes of shows such as “Hot in Cleveland,” “Army Wives,” and “Dallas.” In addition, she was the presenter of “Deadly Affairs,” and she played Genevieve Delatour on “Devious Maids.”
After the passing of her spouse, Helmut Huber, Luci became a widow. At the age of 84, Huber passed away in March 2022 after a long career in television production as Lucci’s manager. Nearly 53 years passed during their marriage. Lucci was his wife. The union between Lucci and Huber was fruitful, resulting in the birth of two children: Liza and Andreas. Huber made the decision to leave the restaurant industry as her career began to take off and become her manager instead. In addition to establishing themselves as one of the most successful show business couples in New York, the pair founded a production company.
Since the passing of her spouse, Lucci has been keeping herself occupied by engaging in charity activities that are both metaphorically and practically dear to her heart. And in October of 2023, Lucci shared a picture of herself on Instagram, and when fans saw how young the actress seemed in the snap, they were shocked.
In October of 2018, Lucci was rushed to the hospital for an unexpected cardiac procedure.
She told People Magazine that it felt like an elephant was crushing down on her chest. “It felt like an elephant pressing down on my chest,” “Until I asked to go home and come back the next day for the procedure, I didn’t realize how serious it was until my doctor told me, ‘You’re not leaving.'” You never know when a heart attack can strike you.
Despite the fact that Lucci is a fitness expert and a passionate proponent of a healthy diet, her family has a history of cardiovascular disease, which is why she ended up going through the agony.

Since then, Lucci has grown more conscientious about her health status; yet, in January 2023, when she felt short of breath and suffered chest and jaw discomfort, she was reluctant to contact the doctor once again.
“I was in complete disbelief. She went on to say, “I reverted back to all of those things after telling women for three years not to be afraid to call the doctor and to put themselves on their to-do list.”
At this point, eighty percent of her arteries were clogged due to the excessive consumption of cholesterol that she had throughout the epidemic.
“I was so embarrassed by what I had done that I was considering not talking about it at all. But it should serve as a reminder to be alert,” she said.
Lucci has sadly had to go through the process of grieving in addition to overcoming the challenges presented by her health concerns. People published an article in March 2022 stating that her husband, Huber, had passed away at the age of 84. Jessica Sciacchitano, who serves as Lucci’s spokeswoman, issued the following statement on her client’s behalf:
Everyone who knew and cared for Helmut will suffer a great deal because of his demise. He was a remarkable friend, spouse, parent, and grandpa all at the same time. During this very trying time, the family would appreciate your respect for their need for privacy.
In February of 2023, Lucci expressed her sadness about the loss of her spouse to FOX 5 New York, stating that he had been “the love of my life.”
Despite this, Lucci has not stopped living her life to the absolute maximum.
Lucci seemed to be as young and full of vitality as ever in an Instagram image that she published on February 8, 2023. In the post, she smiled while wearing a beige cardigan and her blonde hair was loosely flowing.
She captioned the photo of herself on Instagram with the following: “Day of running errands—and meeting a friend for coffee—wearing my silver and gold “empower you heart” necklace by @tiary.”
Notably, Lucci wore a necklace made by Tiary that was part of their “Empower Your Heart” jewelry line, which was designed in conjunction with the American Heart Association (AHA).
According to Tiary, the sterling silver heart necklace that Lucci was wearing was a part of the American Heart Association’s Life Is Why Campaign to promote awareness for the importance of heart health. Until the end of the year 2023, 25% of the revenues from the sale of the pendant would go directly to the American Heart Association Life is Why Campaign.
“The heart-themed pendants are reminders for women to listen to their bodies,” said Lucci, who designed the jewelry.
The actress was also a proponent of teaching people how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation, generally known as CPR. This is a procedure that has been shown to be beneficial in many different types of crises, such as a heart attack, in which a person’s breathing or pulse stops.
“I was lucky enough to avoid having a heart attack, so I didn’t need it; but, many other individuals aren’t as fortunate as I was, and they will. “What I found out is that the likelihood of receiving CPR is significantly lower for women,” she said.
Lucci received compliments on her stunning appearance in the close-up shot, which showed her looking as fresh and vibrant as she always has, as if she were still in the prime of her life. And on October 4, 2023, Lucci was praised once again for the effortless shine that she had. The actress was 76 years old at the time, yet she appeared at least 20 years younger than that!
The actress shared a selfie of herself on Instagram, which quickly garnered a lot of positive feedback from her followers. In the picture, she can be seen wearing a lovely dress in black and white stripes that flows freely and is combined with a short shawl and a pair of shoes. The title of the post gave readers the impression that Lucci was on vacation in Italy at the time the photo was taken.
