After receiving treatment for anaphylactic shock, the well-known chef tragically passed away in the hospital.
A celebrity chef and former star on the Food Network, Michael Chiarello, has passed away. His age was 61.
It was verified by Chiarello’s family in a statement that was sent to ET that he passed away on Friday at the Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, California. He had been hospitalized for the last week after suffering from a severe allergic response that had resulted in anaphylactic shock. People were the ones who broke the news initially.
In their statement, Chiarello’s family paid respect to the world-renowned chef by saying, “We deeply mourn the loss of our beloved patriarch Michael.” His culinary skill, infinite imagination, and unshakable dedication to his family were at the very center of his existence.”
“He brought people together through the joy of shared meals, fostering lasting memories around the table,” according to the press release. “As we struggle to come to terms with the immensity of this loss, we hold dear the times we spent with him that we valued, both in his kitchens and in our hearts. His legacy will continue on in the love that he put into each meal he prepared, as well as in the enthusiasm that he inspired in each and every one of us to appreciate the tastes of life.
There is currently no information available on the specifics of his adverse reaction or his subsequent hospitalization.
Since the 1980s, Chiarello has been employed at upscale dining establishments. He started his career as a chef in front of the camera in 2001, when the first season of his program Season by Season made its debut on PBS.
In 2003, Chiarello started presenting a new program on the Food Network called Easy Entertaining. He also directed the show NapaStyle, which debuted in 2004 on the Fine Living Network, which subsequently morphed into the Cooking station. Both of these shows were produced by the Food Network’s sister station, the Fine Living Network.
Throughout the course of his career, he has also created a number of cookbooks, the most recent of which being Michael Chiarello’s Live Fire: 125 Recipes for Cooking Outdoors, which was published in 2013.
