Sky’s two-month birthday is just one of the many reasons that Al Roker is finding to celebrate the arrival of his brand-new granddaughter.
In the caption of an Instagram image he published on September 3, he wrote, “Here’s to my little Sky Clara being here 2 months.” “That happened very quickly.”
The TODAY co-host and first-time grandfather posted two photographs on social media, one showing the granddaughter gazing up at him with adoration while the other showed her sound asleep on her grandfather’s chest.
It was Al’s second message to his granddaughter in this past week: Al made the following observation while walking 4 miles, which he shared on Instagram: “Today, my granddaughter is 2 months old.” Sky, we wish you a happy birthday!
On July 3, Al’s granddaughter Sky Clara Roker Laga was born to her mother Courtney Roker Laga and her husband Wes.
Courtney told TODAY.com in a text message, “We are extremely excited to welcome a new member into our family and start this next chapter in our lives.” “”We are overwhelmed with gratitude and giddy anticipation for our little miracle.”
The news of Al’s birth was filled with a lot of pride.
On Instagram, he said, “And then this little girl came into my life,” referring to the moment she entered it. Sky Clara Laga, you are very welcome to the world. All over again when it comes to love. Thank you very much, Courtney and Wes, for the wonderful blessing that you provided. (Your) baby is really stunning. Already making plans on how to treat her like a princess and then return her.”
After a week had passed, Al still couldn’t stop gushing about the “magical” experience of being a grandfather.
“And then, to hold this little girl knowing that 30, almost 35 years ago, I held her mom,” he recalled. “And then, to hold this little girl.” “And here she is… and she’s just the right amount of perfect.”
Even at Al’s birthday festivities a month ago, when he turned 69, Sky was given equal billing with Al in the limelight.
He captioned one of the new pictures on Instagram with the hashtag “#birthdaypresent” and said that it was the “best birthday present.”

Courtney also commemorated her father’s birthday by paying tribute to his abilities as a grandfather.
She stated in a post on Instagram, “Happy happy birthday to the best dad and the most amazing pop pop to Sky,” and she included a flashback picture of the two of them from when she was little as well as a fresh shot of her father and Sky.
