Sullivan’s Crossing will make its debut on The CW in the autumn, so get ready to pack your bags and get set for a trip to Nova Scotia!

PEOPLE has the exclusive first look at the trailer for the drama, which will make its premiere in the United States on Wednesday, October 4. The show comes from the same executive producers, Roma Roth and Christopher E. Perry, who were responsible for the production of Netflix’s Virgin River.

Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan), a neurosurgeon, is the protagonist of Sullivan’s Crossing. After her business partner is convicted for fraud and she finds herself accused with negligence, she travels back to the community where she spent her youth. There, she reconciles her relationship with her estranged father, Sully Sullivan (played by Scott Patterson), and she meets the handsome newcomer Cal Jones (played by Chad Michael Murray) – yep, it’s a Gilmore Girls reunion!

The preview starts with a shot of Maggie shutting her eyes as she is lying on the pier, and then it changes to a montage of Sullivan’s Crossing, a picturesque tiny village in the area. Cal inquires as to whether or not this is the woman’s first visit and then offers to “show her around.” She declines his invitation with grace, explaining that now is not a “good time” for her.

“I’ve been so focused on my career, I lost myself,” she says as she is seen dashing out of a building in her business attire, peering over the balcony, and appearing as if she is in a state of panic.

There are a variety of views showing Maggie kayaking, Edna and Frank dancing together, and a group embrace that ends up being rather emotional. Sully asserts, “We treat everyone as if they were a member of our family.”

At the very end of the promotional video, Cal is shown sitting next to Maggie as she closes her eyes and visualizing a location that is dear to her heart. She complies with his request, and a little while later, he inquires, “Where are you?”

She slowly draws nearer to him while smiling as she opens her eyes and stares at him.

Robyn Carr, who previously penned the Virgin River novel series, is the author of the Sullivan’s Crossing book series, which serves as the inspiration for the television show of the same name. There will be a total of ten episodes in the first season, which debuted in March on CTV in Canada for the very first time. The show has already been picked up for a second season after it received a renewal.

Carr said in a press statement that it was a delight to collaborate once again with executive producer and showrunner Roma Roth to bring yet another one of his book series to life on the small screen. “Scott Patterson is the best choice for the role of Sully Sullivan, and Morgan Kohan and Chad Michael Murray are outstanding choices for the roles of Maggie Sullivan and Cal Jones, respectively.”
