Larry Birkhead, Dannielynn Birkhead’s father, recently shared some rare video of his daughter Anna Nicole Smith.
Larry Birkhead is here to remind everyone how rapidly time goes by, as it has been a staggering 17 years to the day since the late Anna Nicole Smith gave birth daughter Dannielynn Birkhead, and Larry Birkhead is here to share the news with the world.
On Thursday, Larry made a post on Instagram in which he paid tribute to his and Anna Nicole’s daughter by sharing some rare home video footage of her. With the post, which was put to the song “I Wish” by Heather Headley, he truly got to the viewer’s feelings and played on their emotions. Some of the videos and photographs show Dannielynn when she was a little kid clutching her sippy cup or unwrapping gifts on Christmas Day. Other images show her as an adult.
There are also pictures that exist of Anna Nicole cuddling Dannielynn when she was a little child. When we go ahead in time to more current events, we find Dannielynn all grown up, wearing makeup, and seeming to be an exact replica of her deceased mother. In the caption, Larry gushed over his daughter while also cracking a joke about the close relationship that they had as father and daughter.
Larry stated that “you are funny, crazy smart, pretty, and just about everything I could ever imagine,” and that he was impressed by all of these qualities. “Your mother is going to be very proud of you, and I know that I am too… When you asked me if you could live in my basement forever, I told you yes, but I didn’t have the heart to tell you that there aren’t any basements in Florida. “By the way, when you asked me that, I said yes, but I didn’t have the heart to tell you that.”
In an interview that took place in September of 2017, Larry spoke with ET how his daughter was adjusting to life apart from her mother as she got closer to entering her teenage years. In February of 2007, Smith passed away as a result of an accidental overdose. Her age was 39.
“She is clinging to the female teachers,” he said to the group. “She has a needy relationship with the mothers of her girlfriends, and she’ll ask things like, ‘Would you want to adopt me?'” Would you be willing to serve as my honorary mother? That is something that she often does.”
Despite the tragically little time they had together as mother and daughter — Anna Nicole passed away only five months after giving birth to her and Larry’s only child — the young woman has, during the course of her life, paid respect to her famous mother in a variety of meaningful ways. Most recently, in May, Dannielynn wore a dress that was made with photos of Anna Nicole covering the top of the garment. This outfit was worn at the Kentucky Derby Barnstable Brown Gala.
