Gerald McRaney celebrated his 76th birthday on August 19, and over the decades, he has maintained a strong presence in the entertainment business. His career has been defined by a persistent dedication to his art, and the role of retired Admiral Hollace Kilbride on the hit series “NCIS: Los Angeles” is the one that has brought him the most recognition. In spite of his advanced age, he has no plans to stop working since he continues to get pleasure and satisfaction from his career.
McRaney emphasized his delight for his position as Admiral Kilbride in an exclusive interview, equating the happiness he is experiencing in his current job to the enjoyment he had when he was working on “Simon & Simon.” In the sixth season, he made his debut as the admiral; however, in subsequent seasons, he was promoted to the position of head of the Office of Special Projects, which increased the significance of his role.
When McRaney praised the amazing crew, skilled actors, and strong work ethic that characterized the production, it was clear that he had a great deal of respect for the program that he was praising. He placed a high priority on the team’s level of professionalism and camaraderie, and he emphasized the significance of taking one’s job seriously while at the same time not taking oneself too seriously. This was a lesson that he had learnt early on in his own career.
McRaney’s devotion for Burke is unwavering in spite of the challenges she faces, which include her weight and health concerns.
The former cast member of “Major Dad” was unambiguous while responding to inquiries on his intentions regarding retirement: he does not intend to stop working in the near future. He laughed at the idea of being entirely retired and instead joked that he may think about becoming “semi-retired.” He reasoned that he would be able to keep working in the business so long as he could commit his lines to memory and keep showing up for work.

The tender love and dedication that McRaney has for his wife, Delta Burke, is a touching demonstration of the longevity of their relationship. In 1987, when Burke was at the height of her career on “Designing Women” and McRaney was rising to prominence on “Simon & Simon,” the couple’s love affair had its start.
His resolve to keep Burke at his side was clear from the beginning, as shown by the fact that he proposed marriage to her on their second date. In 1989, they made their relationship more official by joining a partnership, which has since shown to be both durable and long-lasting.
The actor who won an Emmy has a deep respect for his wife that goes beyond the professional realms in which they both operate. In an interview that took place in 2017, McRaney highlighted how the opinion of Burke as an actor carried a specific significance for him and served as a measuring stick for his performance. He continued by saying, “As a man, I’ve had the love of the finest woman I can possibly imagine.”
Their love and support for one another remains constant, which is one of the hallmarks of their partnership. McRaney’s devotion for Burke is unwavering in spite of the challenges she faces, which include her weight and health concerns.
In an interview conducted in the middle of the 2000s, Burke said that her husband did not mind the fact that she was overweight and actively pushed her to maintain a balanced diet. She went on to detail how McRaney took an active interest in her health and how he even gave her insulin injections to prevent her from passing away.

McRaney provided a stable foundation for his family by standing by his wife and assisting her with the management of her health. In a similar vein, while Burke was fighting her own bout with lung cancer in 2004, she proved to be an unending source of strength and support for her husband.
His road to love was defined by two prior marriages to Pat Moran and Beverly Root, but his connection with Burke has caught his heart and weathered the tests of time. The “Promised Land” alum was married twice before to Pat Moran and Beverly Root.
McRaney’s life is brightened and made more joyful by the presence of six grandkids, who fill the position of “grandfather” that he now finds himself in at the present time. His house is a haven of warmth and unity thanks to the fact that he lives there happily with his wife.
The pair intends to completely experience the joys of life as they fish, shell, and go on leisurely beach trips while soaking in the peaceful beauty of their surroundings as they settle into their new home in the heart of Florida.

When asked about his family, McRaney said that none of his three children have chosen careers in the entertainment industry, which is a choice that he respects. In February of 2022, as a happy grandpa, he was able to be there at the wedding of his eldest granddaughter, which represented yet another significant moment in the path of his family.
