In a message uploaded on his Instagram account on Monday, Seiter’s family announced the sad news of his premature passing.
The statement stated, “It is with a very heavy heart that we share the tragic news of Joshua’s unexpected passing.” Joshua was a very brilliant light in a world that was becoming progressively darker, as everyone who knew him would confirm. In their darkest hours, his outspoken voice and unwavering spirit made thousands of individuals feel a little less alone.
The statement read, “Although our grief at Joshua’s departure hurts beyond words, we take solace in the knowledge that he is now at rest. “We hope and pray that via the images and text on this website, which we will keep up for the time being, his spirit might go on. We would humbly ask for space to mourn as we do that.
The family closed the post by stating, “For anyone who is experiencing a mental health crisis and needs help, the 988 SMS lifeline provides 24/7 free and confidential support for people in distress, as well as prevention and crisis resources,” even though the statement did not mention the reason of passing.
Seiter previously participated in The Bachelorette’s season 11 competition in 2015, seeking for Kaitlyn Bristowe’s affections.
Seit since, Seiter has been frank and upfront about his battles with anxiety and bipolar disorder, among other mental health conditions.
In his last Instagram post before passing away on Thursday, Seiter shared a picture of himself smiling and added the message, “Surviving depression and anxiety one day at a time with a smile.”
