On the occasion of her 65th birthday, Madonna is celebrating her existence with joy.
The “Material Girl” celebrated her birthday in Lisbon, Portugal, surrounded by the people who are most important to her in a video that she uploaded to her Instagram account. The slideshow is set to the music of Madonna’s hit song “Vogue,” which was released in 1990. It features photos and videos of the lavish, family-filled extravaganza that was attended by Madonna, her six children — Lourdes Leon, 26, from her relationship with Carlos Leon; Rocco Ritchie, 22, from her marriage to director Guy Ritchie; David Banda, 17, Mercy James, 17, and the twins Stella and Estere, 10, whom she adopted; and various friends.
The film shows the people that attended the party eating supper, enjoying an incredible dance party, and singing a lot. At the very end of the video collection, David is shown playing the piano as everyone, including his mother, sings along to the melody he has composed.
“It’s great to be Alive and Amazing to Be Able to put on my dancing shoes and Celebrate my Birthday!” The video has captions written by Madonna. “I Am So Appreciative. Thank you very much, Lisbon, and to everyone who helped make this happen!

The joyful family has been keeping themselves busy with festivities over the last week. On August 10, the singer celebrated her son Rocco’s 23rd birthday by posting a touching montage that was put to the Beatles song “Here Comes the Sun” and was dedicated to her oldest child. Rocco is the singer’s eldest child.
She captioned the Instagram photo with the words “Happy Birthday Dearest Rocco…….” “Ever from the moment your mother conceived you, my life has been filled with exciting new experiences thanks to you. From the fact that you were born prematurely to your passion for skateboarding and dirt bikes. Break dancing, parkour, graffiti, and any other activity that will get your adrenaline pumping!”
“You have given me reason for concern, maybe more than anybody else on the face of the earth. You, on the other hand, have chosen the path that is less frequented, and this will prove to be the deciding factor. Seeing you develop as an artist is one of the things that brings me the most joy. She followed by quoting Lucian Freud, who was probably your favorite painter at the time: “What do I ask of a painting?”
“I ask it to astonish, disturb, seduce, and convince!” Continue traveling down the path that is uniquely yours. You make your mom and I very proud! “, she said as she signed off the thread.
The birthday festivities are especially meaningful for the singer since they come just after she was released from the hospital earlier this summer.
In the midst of rehearsals for the Celebration Tour on June 28, Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, said that his client had “a several day stay in the ICU” after contracting “a serious bacterial infection.”
After a few days had passed, ET was informed that Madonna had been released from the hospital and was now recuperating at home as directed by her physician. The singer discussed her health in a statement she made on social media on July 10, in which she also made the formal announcement that the artist would be postponing the North American portion of her tour.
“I want to express my gratitude for the wonderful energy, prayers, and words of healing and encouragement that you have provided. I have experienced the warmth of your affection,” she wrote at the time. “I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings that have been bestowed upon me throughout my life.”
“Right now, I’m concentrating on getting healthier and getting stronger, and I promise that as soon as I’m able, I’ll be back with you!” She went on to continue in part. The current plan calls for the North American part of the tour to be rescheduled, while the European leg will get underway in October. I am indebted to you in incalculable measure for your concern and assistance.
Since then, Madonna has expressed her gratitude to her friends and family, especially her children, for being by her side during the ordeal caused by her health crisis.
She posted a message on Instagram that said, “Love from family and friends is the best Medicine.” “It’s been one month since I got out of the hospital, and now I can think. It’s easy for a mother to get caught up in the demands of her children and the never-ending stream of giving while she’s caring for her family. However, when it came down to the wire, my children came through for me in a big way. I got a glimpse of a side of them that I had never noticed before. It was the deciding factor in everything.”
She has also confirmed the rearranged dates for her forthcoming Celebration Tour in North America, which will now begin in Europe rather than in the United States.
Beginning on October 14, the Celebration Tour will kick off with four gigs at the O2 in London that will all be completely sold out. The North American portion of the tour will get out on December 13 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, after concerts in Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
After that, the tour will make stops in Washington, Boston, Toronto, Detroit, Montreal, Philadelphia, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, St. Paul, Seattle, Vancouver, Sacramento, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Palm Desert, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, and Austin. Finally, in April 2024, the tour will culminate with four performances at the Palacio De Los Deportes in Mexico City.

A source had earlier shared with Entertainment Tonight that “Madonna has been in good spirits and feeling much better.” She is now in Portugal, where she is spending her birthday with her loved ones and having a good time. She is looking forward to getting back to work and has been giving her best effort throughout rehearsals in preparation for this. She is putting forth a lot of effort to get her strength back and become her very best self again.
