On Saturday, Ed Sheeran gave the first concert, and it was a very endearing performance.
When the musician was making a stop in Kansas City, Missouri, on his Mathematics Tour, he assisted a couple in finding out the gender of their unborn child at the Arrowhead Stadium.
The video was accompanied with the phrase “My first gender reveal.”
In the video, the singer can be seen opening an envelope that is written with the word “Congratulations” before announcing to the audience that “It’s a girl.”
The camera then moves over to the ecstatic pair as they celebrate their good news with a tender kiss as the audience members surrounding them cheer enthusiastically.
Sheeran informs the audience members who are about to become parents that they will soon have something exciting to look forward to before starting the concert.
“Can I just say, as a father of two daughters, this is very awesome,” the “Perfect” singer expressed his thoughts on the matter.
Sheeran, who is 32 years old, and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, have been blessed with two kids named Lyra and Jupiter. Following the birth of their children, the couple has made sure to keep their kids out of the public eye and away from social media.
During an honest chat with Rolling Stone magazine in March, the singer of “Bad Habits” reminisced on how his wife gave birth to their second kid in the midst of a struggle with cancer, and how his girls helped him put his life into a healthy perspective, including giving up binge drinking. His wife had been through treatment for cancer at the time of the birth of their second child.
“Two months before Lyra was born, Cherry said, ‘If my waters rupture, do you really want someone else to take me to the hospital?’ he said. “If my waters break,” he added, “do you really want someone else to drive me to the hospital?” “For the simple reason that I had been drinking a lot. That was the moment when I understood it. I responded with, “No, in point of fact, I most certainly do not.” In addition, I never want to be drunk while holding my child. Ever. At never time ever”
He continued by saying, “It’s one thing to have a couple of drinks. On the other hand, possessing a bottle of vodka is a whole other matter. It’s basically an awareness of, ‘I’m moving into my thirties. Get some age! You’ve been out on the town, and you’ve gained this experience. Be content with it, and stop worrying about it.’ Both red wine and beer have a special place in my heart. I don’t know any old rockers who aren’t alcoholics or sober, and I didn’t want to be either of those things because I didn’t want to be like them.
The singer, who has won several GRAMMY Awards, said that the days after his performances are quite different for him since he prioritizes spending time with his family after the shows.
“It’s so nice and wholesome having family on tour,” he told the magazine. “It’s so nice and wholesome having family on tour.” “During the previous tour, I would party until seven in the morning, then I would sleep until four in the afternoon, and then I would wake up and perform. But at the time, I was around 26. It’s not at all like anything else.”
