The tennis star Serena Williams is expecting a daughter.
The professional tennis player, who is 41 years old, and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, revealed the gender of their second child together in a spectacular manner. The pair already has a daughter named Olympia, who is 5 years old.
When Serena came for her “baby shower-slash-gender reveal” party, she made it known that she was “team pink,” as she put it, by wearing a pink and white skirt and top that showed off her baby bulge. The celebration was a combination of a baby shower and a gender reveal. She mentioned this in a video of the celebration that was uploaded to YouTube on Monday. “I’m a little nervous because I don’t have any contingency plan if it turns out to be a boy,” she said in the clip.
The outdoor celebration was adorned with a rainbow-colored balloon arch that had a sign in the middle that said “Our Next Great Adventure,” a multi-colored balloon bouquet that was put on long white poles to simulate trees, and matching blankets that were scattered about the lush grounds for the visitors’ relaxing delight.
As the minutes turned into hours, there was a lot of embracing, dancing (with music provided by DJ Mike Wise), and a dunk tank.
Ohanian, on the other hand, intended to enjoy himself and make the most of the situation, but Williams was unaware of his plans. Ohanian decided to throw off the tennis pro by ordering a yellow cake rather than the more traditional pink cake for a girl and blue cake for a boy.
“I’m doing this because I want to troll her and Olympia into thinking that this is the reveal of Jelly Bean,” he murmured into the camera, alluding to the nickname they have given their child. “I’m doing this because I want to troll her and Olympia into thinking that this is the reveal of Jelly Bean.” “When she cuts into this cake, she will most likely be dissatisfied, and I can only hope that she will appreciate my troll. But we’ll have to see. I have my doubts as to whether or not she will handle the situation in a responsible manner. Williams sliced into the cake, saw that it was yellow, grinned, placed it on a plate, and then proceeded to squash it directly into Alexis’ face.
“We are in fact going to disclose Jelly Bean’s sexual orientation. The manner in which we are going to carry it out, on the other hand, will include a touch of class and a number of eye-catching lights. Before Ohanian called on the DJ to play some music for them, he stated, “draw attention to the heavens.” After several gasps and oohs, the sky was illuminated by drones that spelled out the word “Girl!”
At the same time that the visitors were clapping and cheering, Serena, Alexis, and Olympia were yelling their happiness.
The world-renowned tennis player shared the news in May that she was expecting her second child. Williams made the announcement on Instagram, where she also shared a picture carousel of herself and Ohanian together. Williams is shown holding her pregnant belly in one of the photos, while she and her partner can be seen beaming at the camera in another.

The announcement of Williams’ pregnancy came shortly after she penned an article for the December 2017 issue of Vogue in which she discussed her plan to begin a “evolution” away from tennis and her ambitions of expanding her family to include a fourth child.
Williams also disclosed in the piece that she “never thought about having kids” when she was first starting out in her profession.
“There have been occasions when I’ve questioned whether or not I should ever bring children into this world, given all of the challenges that they would face. She said, “I never felt completely at ease or confident when I was around infants or children, and I always imagined that if I ever did have a baby, I would have other people taking care of it around the clock.”
After making the happy news public, the expecting mother, her husband, and their unborn child went on a babymoon to Europe together, during which they each posted many images to their own Instagram accounts.

Olympia, who was standing next to mom, was seen in one photograph putting her hand on her hip while wearing a pink tiered dress. On the branch of the tree that stood next to them was a Green Day cap. Williams captioned her shot with the phrase “So take the photographs and still frames in your mind,” which is from the Green Day song “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).”
After some time had passed, Williams added a couple more photographs to her Instagram Story. Williams may be seen dancing in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris in one of the videos. The athlete scrawled “Paris, France…,” over the picture.
