After having a remarkable facial tumor that was nearly the size of his own head removed, a guy is left looking practically unrecognizable after the procedure.
Mike Koech, who was born in Kenya, didn’t seem very worried about the tumor when it was only a little growth at first.
But the man, who was 35 at the time, became more terrified as it proceeded to expand until it ate away at one side of his face and eventually became so huge that it forced his nose, mouth, and left eye to one side of his face and caused him to lose his left eye.
In order to eradicate the tumor, which had the potential to be deadly in the future, Mr. Koech has been subjected to a series of procedures to remove it, all of which have been conducted by the Spanish surgeon Pedro Cavadas.

The physician, who is 51 years old, has revealed that if he had not removed the massive ameloblastoma tumor from the base of Mr. Keoch’s skull, the tumor would have continued to grow, and his patient would have “passed away miserably.”

Surgeons in Kenya and India had given up on their efforts to operate because they were intimidated by the enormous size of the growth.
Dr. Cavadas provided the following explanation: “The size of the tumor scared doctors in India, and that country has good hospitals.”
He continued by saying, “He was at the limit of being operated on, but the alternative for Mike was to pass away miserable death, and any option was better than that.”
After learning about the situation from the Red Cross, Dr. Cavadas, who runs a humanitarian medical foundation, arranged for Koech to be flown to his clinic at Manises hospital in Valencia so that he could get treatment there.
Now, after a succession of four procedures that took place in 2011, 2013, 2015, and October of this year, Keoch has undergone a full metamorphosis.
Because the tumor had been rebuilding itself in his jaw and left eye, the team led by Dr. Cavadas was forced to remove what was left of his left eye and a portion of his jaw.
Now, Mr. Koech, who was injured as a youngster and lost both of his legs as a result of the accident, is planning to return to Kenya on December 4 in order to resume his career as a motorcycle taxi driver.
