The sobriety anniversary of Kyle Richards is being celebrated today.
The actress of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” used her Instagram account on Sunday to reflect on her decision to abstain from alcohol for the last year and remind her fans that she made the choice after understanding that alcohol was no longer serving any purpose for her.
“Today marks the beginning of my second year without drinking alcohol. The realization that I did not feel like drinking came to me as a result of a variety of different factors. Richards posted this beside a photo of herself with the caption, “First and foremost, I didn’t feel it had a place where I personally wanted to be.” “I paid attention to my instincts, and the information was crystal apparent to me. I was conscious of the fact that it was no longer beneficial to me, whether on a mental, emotional, or spiritual level.
Richards has said that she does not have a set time period for when she would drink again; nonetheless, she has found that taking a break from alcohol use has made her feel better both physically and psychologically than she ever has before. In addition to this, she said that she has found it lot simpler to give up drinking than she had first anticipated it would be.
“I never set a certain date for when I would start drinking again, nor did I ever state whether or not I ever would. All I can say is that I have never been in such good physical and mental health as I am right now. I’ve realized that I still overshare, but at least I no longer have the dreaded ‘hanxiety’ whenever I think about it. I’ve realized that despite all I’ve learnt, I still have moments when I act foolishly and then berate myself for it. “I’ve learned I’m still fun, and last but not least, I’ve learned that it was much easier than I thought it would be,” she concluded. “I’ve learned that it was much easier than I thought it would be.”
Richards acknowledged that the process was greeted with opposition from certain individuals, but she observed that people have, for the most part, been supportive of her resolve to stay clean.
“There was clearly some pushback from a number of people. However, I have never been one to cave in to the influence of my peers. Regardless of how old I am,” Richards said. People are generally understanding, even if they don’t exactly understand, which is understandable given that I don’t have a “problem” with alcohol. However, believe me when I say that there were many occasions when it did not feel like that. No matter how enjoyable the night before was, the following day I would wake up feeling miserable if I drank alcohol. And to tell you the truth, life is going to toss some challenging days our way. To that already lengthy list, I most definitely do not need the addition of any more items.
The reality TV star continued by saying that admirers had asked how she was doing since she stopped drinking alcohol, which prompted her to make the choice to share the update on her sober journey with the public. “A lot of you send me direct messages inquiring about my experience without alcohol, so I decided to share here today on this 365th day Cheers ❤.”
The post made by Richards was welcomed with a lot of love from people in the comments, particularly from her other castmates on RHOBH. For example, Garcelle Beauvais said, “Your discipline is admirable,” while Erika Jayne commented, “Proud of you..” Richards’ post was liked and shared a number of times.
Alexia, Richards’ daughter, who she shares with her husband Mauricio Umansky, made a message as well, applauding her mother for the significant achievement she had just achieved.
“What!!! Alexia, who is 27 years old, remarked, “Omg I am so proud of you!! “We adore a healthy mind, body, and soul belonging to a queen who has a strong will.”
The frank tweet was made by the 54-year-old actress at a tumultuous moment in her marriage to Umansky, 53, after the announcement that the longtime pair had decided to split up.
A short time later, the two individuals issued a joint statement refuting the rumors that had been circulating.
“Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue,” Richards and Umansky said on Instagram together. “However, it’s no secret that this has been a challenging year for us. The one that has been the most difficult during our marriage.”
Despite this, the couple said in their letter that they “tremendously love and respect each other” and that “there has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part.”
They came to the conclusion that “despite the fact that we are in the public eye, we ask to be allowed to work through our issues in private.” “While it may be amusing to guess, I would ask that you refrain from making up tales just so you can fit them into a more lurid narrative. We are grateful for the support and the love you have shown us.
The following year, over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, Richards and Umansky photographed with several of their offspring together. In addition to Alexia, the pair is also responsible for Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15. From a previous relationship, Richards is also the mother of Farrah Brittany, who is now 34 years old.
In spite of the photographs of the family together, a source informed ET that “Kyle and Mauricio have been having issues in their relationship.” Their challenges aren’t anything new. They had been spending time apart and pursuing their own interests, but recently they have been attempting to make their relationship work.
